Summary: A brief synopsis of evolution vs. creation
TRUTH: Man was created by God
Vs.
TRADITION: Man evolved from super-slime
The battle of traditional Evolution vs. Creation is definitely not a new subject. However, Darwin’s theory of evolution is relatively new as it has only been around about a century and a half.
In essence, traditional evolution says we are all kin to the monkey and have evolved from some type of pre-existing super-slime all the way through monkey-hood to manhood over millions of years of time!
Now, it takes a whole lot more faith to believe that ’story’ than it does to believe that God created us from:
"The dust of the ground and breathed into our nostrils the breath of life" (Genesis 2:7).
The major problem man has with believing God created us is the accountability factor. If God created us He owns us and we must then be accountable to Him as He is revealed in His Holy Word the Bible.
Our sinful actions must be dealt with in view of the Truth of the Word of God which clearly states: "All have sinned and come short"
(Romans 3:23).
Repenting of our sin and receiving Jesus Christ by faith as our personal Saviour is God’s answer to the curse of sin:
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23).
Yes, God’s great love for His creation was demonstrated through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ when He paid the penalty for our sin, only He the sinless Son of God could pay, by lovingly shedding His Blood and dying on the Cross.
When we receive Him by faith we are "born of the Spirit" [born from above](John 3:1-16) becoming complete, fulfilled, children of God worthy to spend eternity with Him in heaven instead of an eternity in the torturous fires of hell!
Being born of the Spirit causes us to instantaneously become new creatures in Christ:
“If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature [creation], old things pass away behold, all things are become new!” (II Corinthians 5:17) thereby supplying us with a clear, unclouded vision to see and understand the Truth of Creation and wisely reject the ’Slime to Super-Monkey’ farce of traditional evolution. We can then truthfully sing with the songwriter these somewhat comical but very truthful words:
"I’m no kin to the monkey
The monkey’s no kin to me
I don’t know about your ancestors
But mine didn’t swing from a tree"
