Truth That Sets You Free

November 23, 2008 Monte T. Brown

John 3:17-21 Sunday Morning

Heart O’ the Hills

Introduction

In a world that is searching for truth, searching for freedom, there is an answer to this search.

Mankind has altered the truth about reality, by convincing us that there is no absolute truth. That truth is what you say is truth.

It is been said that if a lie is repeated enough times then it becomes the truth.

So what is truth and is there really absolute truth?

Yes there is absolute truth!

If an apple falls from a tree it always goes down. That is absolute truth. It is called gravity.

If you place your hand in a fire it will burn you. That is reality and that is absolute truth.

All of us will die someday. That is absolute truth.

Scripture

Prayer

God is Absolute Truth

God is Absolute Truth everything that he has ever said or promised has come or will come to pass.

God does not go back on his word!

Without God there would be no absolute truth, no universe, no earth, and no you.

Look what John 3:17 says; For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

God did not send his Son to bring judgment upon the world, but to come as a divine messenger from God.

Bringing us the message of salvation, this was the mission of Jesus Christ.

This is God’s Absolute Truth.

Truth that Puts You in Bondage

Look what John 3:18 says; He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Condemnation is reserved for the one that believeth not. There are only two kinds of people in the world;

(1)Those who have everlasting life as a result of faith in Christ; and

(2)Those that have not believed and as a result stand condemned already.

Belief delivers unbelievers and seals them.

Releasing them form the condemnation that they already have, because of the sin in our lives.

They are already sentenced (condemned) and await only the execution of that sentence.

Are you in bondage?

Look at what John 3:19 says; And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Is non-belief the Truth that Puts You in Bondage?

Truth that is Reality

Look what John 3:19-20 says; 19And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.

The condemnation that looms over us is the rejection of God and his gift of his Son.

That is the Truth that is Reality.

Mankind would rather embrace evil than good, because sin abounds in us.

The deadly virus of evil, rejects God, evil runs from God, this hinders us from seeing the truth. The presence of God exposes the truth about evil. Evil is truly a deadly virus that consumes our souls.

Truth That Sets You Free

Look what John 3:21 says: But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.

Truth requires action! It’s not just a mere statement from our lips.

They are words that are put into action, through our lifestyle.

Our words can put us into bondage, because our words soon bring about action and action cultivates lifestyle.

Truth That Sets You Free comes from God.

Truth embraces God it comes to God freely.

Truth That Sets You Free are words from the Word of God that we say and put into action, and then through our lifestyle.
