Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
Emphasizes the spiritual importance of tithing, highlighting it as an act of faith, trust, and acknowledgment of God's sovereignty and provision.
Welcome, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, to this blessed day. It's a day filled with promise, a day filled with hope, and a day filled with opportunities to grow closer to our Lord, Jesus Christ. We are here, not by accident, but by divine appointment - God has a message for us today, one that is close to His heart and essential for our spiritual growth.
We are gathered here today to discuss a topic that is often misunderstood, often overlooked, but deeply significant in our walk with God. Today, we are going to discuss tithing. Yes, tithing. It may not be the most glamorous subject. It may not be the most exciting. But, oh, how essential it is!
You see, tithing is more than just giving; it's about trust, it's about faith, it's about recognizing that all we have is not ours, but God's. It's about acknowledging His sovereignty and His provision in our lives. It's about aligning our hearts with His, and it's about stepping into the abundant life He has promised us.
As we consider the words of Malachi, we find ourselves faced with a challenge. A challenge that asks us to trust in God's provision, to believe in His blessings, and to step into the abundant life He promises. This challenge is not about the amount we give, but rather, it's about the posture of our hearts as we give. It's about recognizing that all we have is not ours, but God's. It's about acknowledging His sovereignty and His provision in our lives.
What are we giving?: When we give our tithes, we are not just giving money. We are giving a portion of what God has blessed us with back to Him. We are acknowledging that everything we have comes from Him. We are expressing our gratitude for His provision and our trust in His continued provision.
More than a physical act: It's a spiritual act. It's an act of faith. It's an act of worship. When we give our tithes, we are worshipping God. We are expressing our love for Him, our gratitude to Him, and our trust in Him. We are saying, "God, I trust you with my finances. I trust you with my resources. I trust you with my life."
The blessings that come from tithing: When we tithe, we are not just giving away money. We are investing in the kingdom of God. We are sowing seeds that will reap a harvest. We are storing up treasures in heaven. God promises to bless us when we tithe. He says in Malachi 3:10, "Test me in this... and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it." This is not a promise of material wealth. This is a promise of spiritual blessings. This is a promise of peace, joy, contentment, and fulfillment. This is a promise of a closer relationship with God.
As we continue to reflect on the words of Malachi, we are drawn to the image of the storehouse ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
