INTRODUCTION:

Life is made up of different seasons—some pleasant, others painful; some filled with joy, others with challenges. Just as nature experiences spring, summer, autumn, and winter, so also do we face various seasons in our spiritual journey. The writer of Ecclesiastes reminds us that “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” This truth calls us to recognise that God is sovereign over every moment of our lives.

Whether you are in a season of abundance or lack, laughter or tears, growth or pruning, one constant must remain: our trust in God. Trusting God in every season means acknowledging His perfect timing, surrendering to His plan, and walking by faith even when the path is unclear.

Today’s message encourages us to embrace every season as a divine appointment rather than a setback, knowing that God is always working behind the scenes for our good and His glory.

1. GOD ORDAINS EVERY SEASON FOR A PURPOSE

a) Every season has divine intent (Ecclesiastes 3:1):

God does not waste time or moments—He allows every season to unfold according to His wisdom and plan.

b) Seasons of pain produce growth (James 1:2-4):

Trials and difficulties refine our faith, teaching us endurance and maturity in Christ.

c) Seasons of joy are gifts of refreshment (Psalm 16:11):

Moments of joy remind us of God's goodness and encourage us to keep pressing forward.

d) God's purpose will always stand (Isaiah 46:10):

Even when we don’t understand, God’s ultimate purpose will prevail through every season.

Biblical Example: Joseph endured the pit, the prison, and the palace, yet every season was part of God's purpose to raise him as a deliverer (Genesis 50:20).

2. TRUST GOD EVEN WHEN YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND

a) Faith sees beyond feelings (Hebrews 11:1):

True trust in God is not based on how we feel but on what we know about His unchanging nature.

b) God works in hidden ways (Romans 8:28):

Even when we don’t see immediate results, God is orchestrating events for our good.

c) Waiting seasons are not wasted seasons (Isaiah 40:31):

When we wait on the Lord, He renews our strength and prepares us for what is ahead.

d) Trust brings peace in uncertainty (Proverbs 3:5-6):

When we lean on God’s understanding, we find peace in the middle of life’s questions.

Biblical Example: Job didn’t understand why he suffered, but he declared, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him” (Job 13:15).

3. GOD’S TIMING IS ALWAYS PERFECT

a) God's clock is never late (Habakkuk 2:3):

God is never in a hurry and never behind schedule—His timing is always aligned with His purpose.

b) Impatience can lead to mistakes (1 Samuel 13:8-14):

King Saul lost his kingdom because he acted out of impatience rather than trusting God's timing.

c) God knows the appointed time for breakthrough (Ecclesiastes 3:11):

He makes everything beautiful in its time, even what once seemed ugly or painful.

d) We must align with God's pace (Psalm 27:14):

Learning to wait and move with God’s rhythm builds spiritual maturity and character.

Biblical Example: Abraham and Sarah waited long for Isaac, but in God's perfect time, their promise came to pass (Genesis 21:1-2).

4. GOD’S PRESENCE SUSTAINS US IN EVERY SEASON

a) God walks with us in trials (Isaiah 43:2):

He never leaves us to face difficulties alone—He promises to be with us through fire and water.

b) His grace is sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9):

God supplies the exact grace we need for the season we’re in.

c) His Word is our anchor (Psalm 119:105):

When everything else shifts, God’s Word gives us stability and direction.

d) Worship invites His presence (Psalm 22:3):

Even in hard times, praise attracts the manifest presence of God and renews our faith.

Biblical Example: Paul and Silas worshipped in prison, and God's presence brought deliverance in the darkest hour (Acts 16:25-26).

5. TRUSTING GOD BRINGS GREAT REWARD

a) Those who trust God will not be put to shame (Isaiah 49:23):

No one who places their hope in God will be disappointed.

b) Trust leads to contentment (Philippians 4:11-13):

Paul learned to be content in every season because his strength came from Christ.

c) Trust opens the door to peace (Isaiah 26:3):

When our minds are fixed on God, His peace guards us like a fortress.

d) Trust turns trials into testimonies (2 Corinthians 4:17):

Our momentary afflictions are producing an eternal glory far outweighing them all.

Biblical Example: Daniel’s trust in God in the lion’s den turned a trial into a testimony of God's power (Daniel 6:22-23).

CONCLUSION:

Life is filled with many seasons—some long, some short, some sweet, and others difficult. But through them all, one truth remains: God is faithful. He is the unchanging God in ever-changing circumstances. Trusting Him in every season is not always easy, but it is always worth it.
