Summary: We all find ourselves having to trust people everyday, but do we trust God?

Proverbs 3:5-6-Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Two partners from a small law firm were having lunch when suddenly one of them looked alarmed. He announced, "I have to go back to the office right away! I forgot to lock the safe!"

"What are you worried about?" asked the other lawyer. "We’re both here."

We talk about faith and that is hard to describe, bur we can understand what the word trust means, can't we?

We all find ourselves having to trust people everyday.

We trust whoever built our house that it's not going to fall in on our heads.

We trust the doctor we go see, we even trust that diploma that is hanging on his wall is real!

We trust the brakes on our car or we trust someone else’s driving!

We trust the food that we eat is not sprayed with harsh chemicals that will kill us, when digested!

Trust is the practical outworking of faith: it is when we trust God that we show that our faith in Him is real.

C. S. Lewis wrote, “To trust Him means, of course, trying to do all that He says. There would be no sense in saying you trusted a person if you would not take his advice. Thus if you have really handed yourself over to Him, it must follow that you are trying to obey Him. But trying in a new way, a less worried way.”

All Your Heart-Climbing the ladder at work to paint and it is 13 to 14 feet to reach the top, now I know that God watches over me and protects me all the time, but I’m still scared to climb that ladder….So I don’t know if I don’t trust Him with my heart but my head does, or do I just trust Him with my head and my heart doesn’t! So either way I have to put my trust into action or my lack of trust into action, because that building has to be painted!!

Think of it like this…As trust as the steering wheel and God is steering but you see things in the road and so you reach for the steering wheel to miss them and you don’t wait to see what God is going to do, maybe he will go around them or maybe He will go thru them, but the truth is we want to take control!

Lean Not On Your Own Understanding-

People will say, "I can't understand why God allowed this to happen to me."

People trying to understand God's ways.

I am glad not everything only works if I understand it…I mean if a microwave on worked when I understood how it worked, I would still be standing there waiting for my meal to heat up!!

If my truck wouldn’t run until I understood everything mechanical on it then I would be walking a lot!

I'm glad God only called me to believe cause if He called me to understand everything He did I would be in a world of trouble!!

Our understanding so limited and is based on limited knowledge that we have.

Some people have book sense but no common sense, and some people have no book sense but have common sense.

Even if we had both, we still couldn’t lean on our own understanding because it is faulty, because we can not see into the future and God can, He see the big picture!

Acknowledge-admit something: to admit or accept that something exists, is true, or is real 2. show awareness of something: to respond to something such as a greeting or message to show it has been noticed or received 3. show appreciation of something: to show appreciation or express thanks for something such as a letter or gift 4. recognize somebody or something legally: to recognize or admit the existence, rights, or authority of somebody or something, especially in a legal context 5. thank somebody officially: to officially or publicly recognize somebody's help or work

In All Your Ways Acknowledge Him-Do you do that? In everything you do, do you recognize that God is in control, that nothing going to happen in this world that God doesn’t already have a plan for!

Don’t you just hate it when someone doesn’t acknowledge you in the room?

You know when come into a room or into a business and you say hi and you receive no response.

I wonder how God feels when He is everywhere and we don’t acknowledge Him

He Shall Direct Your Paths-The lady who got behind a truck when it was snowing really bad and after about 30 minutes, he pulls over and said to the lady, “Where are you going?” and she said, “To Denver.” He replied, “Well, you are never going to make it following me, because I’m driving a snow plow and I’m just clearing the parking lot!”
