I. EXORDIUM:

Who do you trust? Who do you fear? To whom do you hope?

II. AUDIENCE PROFILE:

Believers/unbelievers

III. OBJECTIVES:

To show from multiple scripture bible verses that GOD Alone deserves all the trust, hope and fear in this world. Give GOD His due place of Trust, Hope and Fear.

IV. TEXT:

1 Timothy 4:10 With a view to this we toil and strive, [yes and] {suffer reproach}, because we have [fixed our] hope on the living God, Who is the Savior (Preserver, Maintainer, Deliverer) of all men, especially of those who believe (trust in, rely on, and adhere to Him).

Hebrews 2:13 And again He says, My trust {and} assured reliance {and} confident hope shall be fixed in Him. And yet again, Here I am, I and the children whom God has given Me.

Psalms 25:2 O my God, I trust, lean on, rely on, {and} am confident in You. Let me not be put to shame {or} [my hope in You] be disappointed; let not my enemies triumph over me.

Psalms 71:5 For You are my hope; O Lord God, You are my trust from my youth {and} the source of my confidence.

Isaiah 26:4 So trust in the Lord (commit yourself to Him, lean on Him, hope confidently in Him) forever; for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages].

V. THESIS:

Praise, worship, glorify, adore, bless, honor, acknowledge and thank You very much LORD JESUS for You deserve all of my trust, You deserve all of my fear, and You deserve all of my Hope. Thank You for teaching me to whom I place all my trust, hope and fear and it's all in You. I will never trust in anyone or anything but to GOD alone, I will never hope in anyone or anything but to GOD alone and I will never fear anyone or anything but to GOD alone.

VI. TITLE:

Trust, Hope and Fear GOD Alone

VII. EXPLICATION:

1 Timothy 1:1-20

A. Contents: Legalism and unsound teaching rebuked.

B. Characters: God, Christ, Timothy, Alexander, Satan, Hymenaeus

C. Conclusion: Witnesses of Christ must not only be charged to preach the true Gospel doctrine but charged to preach no other doctrine, for it needs no improvement, and to add the letter of the law to the doctrines of grace is an impossible mixture, leading to unprofitable jangling. Those answer the end of the law who have a good conscience toward Christ and faith unfeigned.

D. Key Word: Vain jangling, 1Ti_1:6.

E. Strong Verses: 1Ti_1:5, 1Ti_1:15.

F. Striking Facts: 1Ti_1:15. The errand of Jesus Christ in the world was not to be a great teacher and reformer, but to die as a ransom for sinners of whom there are two classes—the sinner who thinks himself righteous (as did Paul before converted) and the sinner who feels himself a sinner.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

Trust, Hope and Fear in GOD alone

1. Trust GOD alone

Matthew 6:24 No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by {and} be devoted to the one and despise and be against the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (deceitful riches, money, possessions, or whatever is trusted in).

Matthew 27:43 He trusts in God; let God deliver Him now if He cares for Him {and} will have Him, for He said, I am the Son of God.

John 1:12 But to as many as did receive {and} welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name--

2. Hope in GOD alone

Rom 15:13 May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound {and} be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope.

Galatians 5:5 For we, [not relying on the Law but] through the [Holy] Spirit's [help], by faith anticipate {and} wait for the blessing {and} good for which our righteousness {and} right standing with God [our conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action, causes us] to hope.

1 Peter 1:21 Through Him you believe in (adhere to, rely on) God, Who raised Him up from the dead and gave Him honor {and} glory, so that your faith and hope are [centered and rest] in God.

3. Fear GOD alone

2 Peter 2:4 For God did not [even] spare angels that sinned, but cast them into hell, delivering them to be kept there in pits of gloom till the judgment {and} their doom.

Matthew 10:28 And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; but rather be afraid of Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell (Gehenna).
