Summary: We must learn to trust God at all times.

TRUST IN GOD

It’s hard to trust at times. Especially when you’ve been hurt or you’re confused or you don’t understand but we need to learn to trust God at all times.

PT 1: TRUST GOD IN ALL THINGS AND AT ALL TIMES.

Why can we trust God in all things and at all times?

Why? Because God has perfect wisdom.

Tozer says concerning God and his wisdom:

Wisdom, among other things, is the ability to devise perfect ends and to achieve those ends by the most perfect means. It sees the end from the beginning, so there can be no need to guess or conjecture. Wisdom sees everything in focus, each in proper relation to all, and is thus able to work toward predestined goals with flawless precision. All God’s acts are done in perfect wisdom, first for His own glory, and then for the highest good of the greatest number for the longest time. And all His acts are as pure as they are wise, and as good as they are wise and pure. Not only could His acts not be better done; a better way to do them could not be imagined.

Think about that! A better way cannot be imagined! We can’t improve upon what God has done. Think about these five points about God’s wisdom.

1. God sees everything in focus.

2. He works despite man with flawless precision.

3. He acts and doesn’t act with perfect wisdom.

4. God acts with perfect wisdom for the highest good, the greatest number, for the longest time with perfect timing.

5. God has the complete picture and sees how one act affects everything else, in everyway for all time.

It’s no wonder Paul would say, Rom 11:33 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! "Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?" "Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him?" For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

Why else can we trust God in all things? Because He he is working FOR OUR GOOD in all things!

Do we really believe what Rom 8:28 says, And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. In all things God? Yes in all things. In all things God? Yes Job in all things. In all things God? Yes Rachel in all things. In all things God? Yes Hannah in all things.

How then do we approach the future? With humility before God. With a God conscious spirit that’s in line with, Eccl 5:2 Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.

Can we question? Sure, but do it humbly. Remember also the spirit of David.

Psa 131:1 A song of ascents. Of David. My heart is not proud, O LORD, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me.

Psa 131:2 But I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with its mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me.

Psa 131:3 O Israel, put your hope in the LORD both now and forevermore.

God knows what he’s doing; trust him. Remember the words of the psalmist.

Psa 56:3 When I am afraid, I will trust in you.

Psa 62:8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. Selah

May God help you to trust in Him at all times and be at peace. Amen.
