Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
Good morning, brothers and sisters in Christ! Today, we're diving into a deep and beautiful piece of Scripture from the book of Romans, which calls us to a higher level of worship. It's about more than just singing songs on a Sunday morning; it's about living a life of worship, every day, in everything we do. As our respected brother in Christ, A.W. Tozer once said, "True worship is to be so personally and hopelessly in love with God, that the idea of a transfer of affection never even remotely exists."
The call to true worship is an invitation to a deeper, more profound relationship with our Creator. It's not about the outward expressions of faith we often associate with worship, such as singing hymns or attending church services. While these are important aspects of our faith journey, they are not the entirety of what it means to worship. True worship, as Paul outlines in Romans 12, is about offering our entire lives - our bodies, our minds, our hearts - as a living sacrifice to God. This is a call to a lifestyle of worship, where every action, every decision, every moment of our lives is an act of worship to God.
When we consider the magnitude of God’s mercy, as Paul urges us to do, we realize that our response should be nothing less than total surrender. This is the essence of the call to true worship. It's about recognizing the enormity of God's love for us and responding in kind, with a love that encompasses every aspect of our lives. It's about living in a way that reflects our gratitude for His mercy, His grace, and His love.
The nature of true worship, as we see in Romans 12, is not confined to a specific time or place ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
