True Worship (Part 2)

INTRODUCTION: A little while back I spoke on what true worship is -- that we worship

in truth and in spirit. We spoke about what praise is... what worship is...

Review - WORSHIP is both the Hebrew (OT) and the Greek (NT) means to prostrate

oneself

PROSTRATE = in Websters, stretched out with face on the ground in adoration or

submission, bow down, fall down flat, do reverence

~ that is with our hearts - our lives - our attitudes ~

In genuine, 100% all out corporate worship of the church, there are four results which

will happen: 1. God’s Presence is Felt; 2. God’s Power is Displayed; 3. God’s

Pardon is Offered; and 4. God’s Purposes are Revealed.

This type of worship ~ genuine, 100% all out ~ along with these results comes from us

being HUNGRY for God and things of God.

~ Hunger comes dissatisfaction ~

*****HOW HUNGRY ARE YOU?!!

I. GOD’S PRESENCE IS FELT (experienced)

~ verses 25 & 26

One of the best ways for people to come to the Lord, in regards to salvation, is by

experiencing God’s Presence. I believe this is the beginning stage for results # 2-4 to

occur: 2. God’s Power is Displayed; 3. God’s Pardon is Offered; and 4. God’s

Purposes are Revealed. It MUST happen before anything else.

Acts 3:19 (KJV) ~ Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out,

when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

Acts 17:28 ~ ‘For in Him we live and move and have our being.’

Ephesians 3:12 ~ In Him and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and

confidence.

Do you hunger to experience God’s Presence?

II. GOD’S POWER IS DISPLAYED

~ verse 26

1Corinthians 1:18 ~ For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but

to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

Do you hunger for God’s power to be evident in your life and in this church?

III. GOD’S PARDON IS OFFERED

~ verses 29, 30 & 34

II Corinthians 6:2b ~ I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.

Romans 1:16 ~ I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the

salvation of everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

Do you hunger for God’s forgiveness? ...to be right with God?

IV. GOD’S PURPOSES ARE REVEALED

~ verses 34-36

Romans 8:28 ~ And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him,

who have been called according to His purpose.

Ephesians 1:9 ~ And He made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good

pleasure, which He purposed in Christ.

Do you hunger to know God’s will?

CONCLUSION:

How many of you want this? How many of you want God moving this much THAT

1. God’s Presence is Felt; 2. God’s Power is Displayed; 3. God’s Pardon is

Offered; and 4. God’s Purposes are Revealed.
