VIII. MAIN BODY:
Joshua 7:25 (Amplified Bible)
And Joshua said, Why have you brought trouble on us? The Lord will trouble you this day. And all Israel stoned him and those with him with stones, and afterward burned their bodies with fire.
Joshua 7:25 (King James Version)
And Joshua said, Why hast thou troubled us? the LORD shall trouble thee this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones.
A. JESUS is asking the enemy why he troubled GOD's creation?
"And Joshua said, Why have you brought trouble on us? The Lord will trouble you this day."
Achan symbolizes the enemy, while Joshua symbolizes the LORD JESUS. And of course, the LORD JESUS Himself troubles (disturb or afflict) our enemies not us.
Romans 12:19 (Amplified Bible)
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for [God’s] wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay (requite), says the Lord.
Deuteronomy 32:35 (Amplified Bible)
Vengeance is Mine, and recompense, in the time when their foot shall slide; for the day of their disaster is at hand and their doom comes speedily.
Hebrews 10:30 (Amplified Bible)
For we know Him Who said, Vengeance is Mine [retribution and the meting out of full justice rest with Me]; I will repay [I will exact the compensation], says the Lord. And again, The Lord will judge and determine and solve and settle the cause and the cases of His people.
The LORD JESUS will fight our battles in this life and places us in the parade of victories.
1 Samuel 17:47 (Amplified Bible)
And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.
1 Corinthians 15:57 (Amplified Bible)
But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Thessalonians 1:6 (Amplified Bible)
[It is a fair decision] since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with distress and affliction those who distress and afflict you,
It's a righteous thing before the eyes of GOD to repay all our enemies and debtors with distress and afflictions. This is what GOD does best.
ILLUSTRATION: The unbelievers of this world always attribute it to "karma" but there's no karma only JESUS who does the vengeance.
B. Now the enemy will forever suffer in the lake of fire
"And all Israel stoned him and those with him with stones, and afterward burned their bodies with fire."
Joshua 7:15 (Amplified Bible)
And he who is taken with the devoted things shall be [killed and his body] burned with fire, he and all he has, because he has transgressed the covenant of the Lord and because he has done a shameful and wicked thing in Israel.
