Psalm 1 The psalmist compares believers to trees “TREES”

1. We are the oaks. God wants us to be the oaks. Trees that are firm, strong, sturdy, durable, tough

• Trees often bear fruit or nuts that old hickory tree bears all kind of nuts lawn mower tells

• I read somewhere they give oxygen to the air or breath

• The wood from trees give us fuel for fire , Trees give us wood for shelter

• Tress give us protection from the wind from rain I stood under old leafy oak while walking

• They say property is more valuable with trees on it.

2. On poet said, “there is no poem as lovely as a tree.

• The poet said a tree looks at God all day

• A tree lifts her leafy arms to pray

3. Trees that are planted by streams of living waters are Happy Blessed

• Streams are everywhere big streams small streams clean streams dirty streams were streams

• If one wants to live happy he does not walk in the steps of the wicked

• The tree that wants to be Happy will delight in the law of the Lord

• The tree that wants to be happy will meditate on the word of the lord day and night

4. Trees that are planted by streams of living waters

• These trees are fruitful yield their fruit in its season and leaves do not wither in all they do is prosper.

• One could say, it’s an apple tree that delivers apples, it’s an cherry tree that produces cherries, it’s a fig tree that delivers figs , Christians produce Christianity

• We are trees that bear fruits “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…we yield these fruits we will never wither but we will prosper.

5. Trees that are planted by streams of living water they have great foliage

• These trees are leafy That person who has great foliage (v. 3).

Psalm 92:14 tells us that “they are always green.”

Jeremiah 17:8. “And its leaves shall stay green.” The godly living a righteous life is a person who looks good, acts good and is good.

• This is a person you want to hire. This is a person you can trust with your children. This is a person you can trust to manage the office. This is a person who you can trust no matter

6. Let us be the trees that are planted by streams of living water

• Let us be trees that are leafy that give oxygen or breathe not just breath for self but breathe for others. This benefits everyone.

• Let’s help others to breath better, live better, Be better.

• We are like the mighty oaks which make God look and appeal better They will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display his glory”

• During hard times we can still glorify God (Isaiah 61:3 )Trees that are planted by living waters glorifies God. With all that foliage, even in a season of drought (“In the year of drought it is not anxious, and it does not cease to bear fruit” Jeremiah 17:8), it glorifies its Creator.

7. Finally, We are the trees that are planted by the living Word

• These trees are the light of the world,

• we are the trees that let our light shine before others,

• We are the trees we hate what is evil, and love what is good,

• We are the trees that are guided by the Spirit,

• We are the trees that clothe ourselves with virtue and we live godly lives.

• We are the trees that believe in God the Father who calls us;

• We are the trees that Believe in God the Son who died for us; and

• We are the trees that believe in God the Holy Spirit who empowers us. Amen.
