Mat 13:33 Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

Intro:

What is a parable? It is a story in place of another to reveal a complex story into a simple one.

Why Jesus uses parable?

Mat 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

Joh 9:40 And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?

Joh 10:6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.

What is the parable is all about

The background of the story:

Mat 13:1 The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.

Mat 13:2 And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.

At this point in time there is still no church established.

And Jesus was preaching about the kingdom of God. But his kingdom that he speaks about is the kingdom of God on earth.

There exist the kingdom of God in heaven but there is no kingdom of God on earth yet. And that about to establish it and Jesus said

Mat_16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

jesus was about to establish the kingdom of God on earth. And where the Jesus is declared to be the Lord and king the kingdom of God resides in him.

And Jesus intended to gather them together as one and he calls the His church.

And so the kingdom of God that he speaks in this parable is the kingdom of god on earth which is the church

The message of the parable

I. The kingdom of god on earth which is the church will start so small – a small amount of yeast will make the whole dough rise

II. The kingdom of god on earth which is the church will

Start from a little place called Jerusalem from the nation of Israel – the woman

III. The kingdom of god on earth which is the church will greatly influence the whole world

The church will have a great impact on all aspect of the society, political, social economic, educational name it… it will have a great impact on the whole world.

Conclusion:

If you have Christ as your Lord and king and your savior, the kingdom of God rest on you.
