Topic: How the rapture inspires a Christian
Text: Hebrews 10:24-25
24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Introduction:
The rapture is closer now more than ever before. And that is our hope that one day Christ will return to take us with Him. And while we wait for the rapture, as we wait for that day to come, we are to obey God’s commands, He commands us to worship together. And it is for our own good. Every one of God’s commands is for our happiness, for your holiness. And His command for us is to prepare. The declares it:
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near”
The doctrine of the rapture provides a whole lot of benefits to Christians. Let us discuss them one by one:
I. The rapture provides us hope for those who have already died
1 Thessalonians 4:17-18
17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.
II. The rapture provides comfort for a better life in heaven
John 14:1-3
14 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God[a]; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
III. The rapture urges us to live in purity
1 John 3:1-3
3 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears,[a] we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3 All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.
Conclusion:
We are urge to continue in your faith in Christ. As it is written in:
1 John 2:28-29
28 And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming.
29 If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who does what is right has been born of him.
