VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. The HOLY SPIRIT says

"Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says:"

SPIRIT is "Pneuma" in the Greek meaning:

1. the third person of the triune God, the Holy Spirit, coequal, coeternal with the Father and the Son

2. the spirit, i.e. the vital principal by which the body is animated

3. the disposition or influence which fills and governs the soul of any one

When the HOLY SPIRIT speaks, He is moving, impelling, influencing turning them to CHRIST and inspiring.

2 Peter 1:21 (Amplified Bible)

1:21 For no prophecy ever originated because some man willed it [to do so—it never came by human impulse], but men spoke from God who were borne along (moved and impelled) by the Holy Spirit.

Hebrews 9:8 (Amplified Bible)

9:8 By this the Holy Spirit points out that the way into the [true Holy of] Holies is not yet thrown open as long as the former [the outer portion of the] tabernacle remains a recognized institution and is still standing,

Mark 12:36 (Amplified Bible)

12:36 David himself, [inspired] in the Holy Spirit, declared, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies [a footstool] under Your feet.

We are inspired by the HOLY SPIRIT. If we don't have CHRIST in our hearts, then our spirit is dead, soul is destroyed forever in hell, and body is not animated. (does not move). We have to listen to the HOLY SPIRIT, for He speaks, and breaks His silence in the time that He can only decide.

B. Today, if you will hear His voice

"Today, if you will hear His voice,"

Today means "this day", current day, now. Voice means "the idea of discolosure", "tone, address, saying or language"

2 Corinthians 6:1-2 (Amplified Bible)

6:1 LABORING TOGETHER [as God’s fellow workers] with Him then, we beg of you not to receive the grace of God in vain [that merciful kindness by which God exerts His holy influence on souls and turns them to Christ, keeping and strengthening them—do not receive it to no purpose].

6:2 For He says, In the time of favor (of an assured welcome) I have listened to and heeded your call, and I have helped you on the day of deliverance (the day of salvation). Behold, now is truly the time for a gracious welcome and acceptance [of you from God]; behold, now is the day of salvation!

James 4:13-15 (Amplified Bible)

4:13 Come now, you who say, Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a city and spend a year there and carry on our business and make money.

4:14 Yet you do not know [the least thing] about what may happen tomorrow. What is the nature of your life? You are [really] but a wisp of vapor (a puff of smoke, a mist) that is visible for a little while and then disappears [into thin air].

4:15 You ought instead to say, If the Lord is willing, we shall live and we shall do this or that [thing].

Our orders, instructions comes from the HOLY SPIRIT, it's likely, absolutely that He speaks today (now) but we're so busy in other things that we don't "hear" Him. The day will not passed where the HOLY SPIRIT speaks to us with His Voice. It's a small prompting, not violating our human will, we have to "train" our ears to listen to Him, for all our guidance, leading and teaching comes from Him.

The HOLY SPIRIT guides with His Voice:

John 16:13 (Amplified Bible)

16:13 But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future].
