Summary: The fourth part of a series encouraging all believers to trust God’s promises and leap over to their inheritance inspite of all challenges.

TODAY IS YESTERDAY’S TOMORROW—4. Josh. 1:1-9

New Era, new Challenges, new Responsibilities—Contd.

“Arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I do give them … Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you …” Josh. 1:2,3.

God does not say it if He would not do it.

There is a land for you. In one sense He defines it—”Go over this Jordan … to the land which I do give them …”

In another sense He allows you to define it—”Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you …”

In the next verse we see the dimensions of the possession.

—THE WILDERNESS. The untapped potentials. The unused abilities. The uncultivated talents. The unutilized opportunities. Our lives are full of all these. God is laying them bare before us. There is no waste in God. Lost opportunities can be regained.

“The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad … and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose” Is. 35: 1.

God wants you to reclaim your lost ground. He wants you to go after your dream. Yes it may appear buried deep down in the sand of time. The pages of your vision might have been overlaid with dust of impossibilities and obstacles, the divine instruction to you today is, “Arise, go over …” whatever God has defined for you in His will belongs to you. Any current occupant apart from you is an intruder. Child of God, go over and possess.

You must not report back to Him unfulfilled. You must not be buried with your inheritance left unclaimed. Lebanon is waiting for you, with all it’s cedars, fir and algum trees (2 Chr. 2: 8).

In this church we are set to possess the wilderness of the society—the homeless, the drug addicts, the abandoned and the neglected. We will go to the Hittites—they are our inheritance—the world of business, the schools, the neighborhoods, the music world, we will possess the land politically, spiritually, economically and socially, God has given us this world. If our feet can tread on any part of it, He guarantees it is ours! Everyone will be involved. Get up and be up and running. This is Joshua Generation concept.

Beloved, the resources at God’s disposal are backing you up. Don’t leave any spot unclaimed. Your future promised yesterday is today. The coast of your possession is the wilderness to the going down of the sun—where weeping endures for a night. The dark hours of your life when no one could help you.

There will be a new beginning. You will not stop possessing—until the place of your tears becomes the place of your cheers. Until the place of your darkness becomes the place of your greatness. Until the city of your thorns becomes the city of your crowns. No, you will not stop possessing until your defeating nightmare becomes your befitting fun fare.

Your past is not dark enough to obscure your glorious future.

Arise and go over. God has spoken.
