Summary: Certain things we need to get rid of but we just cant bring our selves to.
Open and read Matt. 13:44-46
Mk 10:21
What must I do to inherit ETERNAL life...Jesus said, not to: commit adultery, kill, steal, bear false witness, defraude not, honor thy father and mother. (20) Have observed my youth up. (21) Then Jesus beholding him loved him and said unto him, one thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatseover thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. (22) He went away grieved for he had great possessions.
Luke 11:24
When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and find none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out. (25) And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. (26) Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wiked then he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wiked that himself, and they enter in, and dwell there, and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
If we want more of the Lord we must make room for him in our heart. There are lots of things in our heart that we could remove but we chose not to. There is only so much space in a room. To add something else sometimes something has to be removed first. When our heart gets full the Lord comes by to give us what we need, but if there is no place to put it he will take it and give it to someone else.
If someone was to offer you a new couch and you did not have room for it, you would probably throw out your old one for this new one. The Lord is looking for some people who will make room for him.
We must be careful that we keep that room filled with Jesus or the devil will try to move in.
