VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Through and with GOD, we do valiantly

"Through and with God we shall do valiantly,"

Valiantly or "chayil" in Hebrew means:

1. a force, whether of men, means or other resources; an army, wealth, virtue, valor, strength

2. able, activity, (+) army, band of men (soldiers), company, (great) forces, goods, host, might, power, riches, strength, strong, substance, train, (+) valiant (-ly), valour, virtuous (-ly), war, worthy

Zechariah 4:6 (Amplified Bible)

4:6 Then he said to me, This [addition of the bowl to the candlestick, causing it to yield a ceaseless supply of oil from the olive trees] is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit [of Whom the oil is a symbol], says the Lord of hosts.

We always say in victory:

1. but by GOD's Grace

1 Corinthians 15:10 (Amplified Bible)

15:10 But by the grace (the unmerited favor and blessing) of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not [found to be] for nothing (fruitless and without effect). In fact, I worked harder than all of them [the apostles], though it was not really I, but the grace (the unmerited favor and blessing) of God which was with me.

2. The LORD is my Rock and my Strength

Psalms 144:1 (Amplified Bible)

144:1 [A Psalm] of David. BLESSED BE the Lord, my Rock and my keen and firm Strength, Who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight—

3. I am strong in the LORD, I draw my Strength from the LORD.

Ephesians 6:10 (Amplified Bible)

6:10 In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].

Joel 3:10 (Amplified Bible)

3:10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears; let the weak say, I am strong [a warrior]!

4. The LORD is on my side

Psalms 118:6 (Amplified Bible)

118:6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?

5. The LORD is my Shield, because I take refuge in Him and put my trust in Him

Psalms 18:30 (Amplified Bible)

18:30 As for God, His way is perfect! The word of the Lord is tested and tried; He is a shield to all those who take refuge and put their trust in Him.

The wicked are treated differently:

1. Their wealth shall become plunder and their houses a desolation

Zephaniah 1:13 (Amplified Bible)

1:13 And their wealth shall become plunder and their houses a desolation. Though they build houses, they shall not inhabit them; though they plant vineyards, they shall not drink the wine from them.

2. Another man shall lie with their wife

Deuteronomy 28:30 (Amplified Bible)

28:30 You shall betroth a wife, but another man shall lie with her; you shall build a house, but not live in it; you shall plant a vineyard, but not gather its grapes.

3. worms will eat their grapes

Deuteronomy 28:39 (Amplified Bible)

28:39 You shall plant vineyards and dress them but shall neither drink of the wine nor gather the grapes, for the worm shall eat them.

4. They shall not drink their wine

Amos 5:11 (Amplified Bible)

5:11 Therefore because you tread upon the poor and take from him exactions of wheat, you have built houses of hewn stone, but you shall not dwell in them; you have planted pleasant vineyards, but you shall not drink their wine.

B. GOD will tread down our adversaries

"for He it is Who shall tread down our adversaries"

The wicked will be crushed.

David knows GOD's WORDS so He prayed in line with the WORD.

Psalms 18:42 (Amplified Bible)

18:42 Then I beat them small as the dust before the wind; I emptied them out as the dirt and mire of the streets.
