Is you wife a disagreeing, quarrelsome and scolding wife?

III. OBJECTIVES:

To show the three sins that wives are liable to commit, they are the following: (a) wives tend to disagree with their husbands, (b) wives tend to quarrel with their husband, and (c) wives tend to find fault with their husband, thus, scolding their husband like they are the mother and their husbands are like a little, naughty child.

IV. TEXT:

Proverbs 25:24 It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop than to share a house with a disagreeing, quarrelsome, {and} scolding woman.

Proverbs 21:9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop [on the flat oriental roof, exposed to all kinds of weather] than in a house shared with a nagging, quarrelsome, {and} faultfinding woman.

Proverbs 21:19 It is better to dwell in a desert land than with a contentious woman and with vexation.

V. THESIS:

Praise, worship, glorify, adore, bless, honor, acknowledge and thank You very much LORD JESUS for You have opened my eyes to three sins a wife can commit so I can help her win over these 3 sins of disagreeing, quarrelsome and scolding sins.

C. Conclusion: (Principal lesson, Pro_25:21, Pro_25:22.) The way to turn an enemy into a friend is to act friendly towards him. If it does not gain him it will aggravate his sin and punishment, and will heap the coals of God’s wrath upon his head.

F. Striking Facts: Pro_25:1. Herein Christ is greater than Solomon for Joh_21:25 tells us that if we had on record all the good things that Christ said the world could not contain the books.

Three sins of a wife:

A. Disagreeing

To disagree means: {Taken from Webster's 1828 Dictionary}

1. To differ; to be not accordant or coincident; to be not the same; to be not exactly similar. Two ideas disagree, when they are not the same, or when they are not exactly alike. The histories of th same fact often disagree.

2. To differ, as in opinion; as, the best judges sometimes disagree.

Who shall decide when doctors disagree?

3. To be unsuitable. Medicine sometimes disagrees with the patient; food often disagrees with the stomach or the taste.

4. To differ; to be in opposition.

So in summary, a disagreeing wife is a wife that differs; not according or coinciding. The bible told us that the wife is the first to disagree. That's why in the New Testament, wives are commanded to submit their own husbands. Wives are not to submit to every male person but to only their husbands. That's why the New Testament have given the solution so that wives will not disagree with their husband.

Ephesians 5:22 Wives, be subject (be submissive and adapt yourselves) to your own husbands as [a service] to the Lord.

That's why the bible compares a disagreeing wife to a continual dripping of a violent showers. It's hurting the ear of the husband.

Proverbs 27:15 A continual dripping on a day of violent showers and a contentious woman are alike;

That's why husbands that are unbelievers and don't understand the WORD will just say to their wives, "Shut up!"

B. Quarrelsome

To quarrel means: {Taken from Webster's 1828 Dictionary}

QUAR'REL, n. [L. queror, to complain, that is, to cry out with a loud voice. Hence we see the primary sense is the same as brawl. The L. queror coincides in elements with to call, to bawl, to shout, and gearan, a complaint. Heb.

1. A brawl; a petty fight or scuffle; from its noise and uproar.

2. A dispute; a contest.

On open seas their quarrels they debate.

3. A breach of friendship or concord; open variance between parties.

4. Cause of dispute.

The king's quarrel is honorable.

5. Something that gives a right to mischief, reprisal or action.

He thought he had a good quarrel to attack him. [Not used.]

6. Objection; ill will, or reason to complain; ground of objection or dispute.

Herodias had a quarrel against him. Mark 6.

7. Something peevish, malicious, or disposed to make trouble. [Not used.]

To my surprise and against my common knowledge, I thought that male person are the one's who are quarrelsome because of their brute force and their machoness, but in the bible it's otherwise. Wives are quick to quarrel than husbands.

Quarrelsome means a. Apt to quarrel; given to brawls and contention; inclined to petty fighting; easily irritated or provoked to contest; irascible; choleric; petulant. {Taken from Webster's 1828 Dictionary}

You can jokingly say to your wife, you know you are petulant, so that it will give you time to run while your wife looks it up in a dictionary. According to the bible, wives are inclined to petty fighting, apt to quarrel. That's what the bible said, not me, so don't pick up a petty fight with me.
