There was a discussion about women submitting to their husbands, but submission touches every realm of our lives.
1 Corinthians 16:16 That ye submit yourselves unto such, and to every one that helpeth with us, and laboureth.
Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
Colossians 3:18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
1 Peter 2:13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;
1 Peter 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble
Hupotasso is a military term meaning to rank under. The Captain submits to the Major. In a two person relationship, someone must have the tie breaking vote or the responsibility. If a project is given to two Colonel's the one with the earliest date of rank is made the team lead if all other things are equal. It does not mean that one is better than the other.
Adam had date of rank over Eve since he was created first. She was made to be suitable for him. Ideally, in a marriage his strengths are his weaknesses and her strengths are his weaknesses so that they will be stronger together than they would be apart. Indeed, we say opposites attract.
When a decision has to be made and the two are not in agreement, the man has date of rank, so to speak, through Adam. This not mean that she has not power to influence him as the best Commanders seek the advice of their field officers or senior NCOs. In the end, the Commander makes the call. In a marriage, the man makes the final decision. He also gets the full responsibility for the success or failure of the decision.
God holds the man accountable for his life, his wife's and their children. Hence, he gets the authority/power to make what he believes will be the best benefit for all involved. He gets the fame or the shame so he directs the game.
In 1 Corinthians 11, Paul gives us part of God's organizational chart. Man and Angels are huptasso or submitted to God. Woman is submissive to man. In other places he says the children are submitted to parents, workers to employers and citizens to government.
Angel's rebelling against God created the lake of fire. Adam and Eve rebelling against God lost Paradise and aligned us with satan creating a place in Hell for man. All of the Hell we see on earth is due to man rebelling against God. The hell in marriage is man and woman rebelling against God by not fulfilling their roles and purpose. The kids rebel against the parents. Workers rebel against employers because employers rebel against God. Governments rebel against God causing citizens to rebel against God and governments. Churches rebel against God by catering to culture or replacing relationship with rituals or redefining the Word to suit them.
Revival comes by returning to God in submission to His will. That means submitting to our roles in life whether we be husband, wife, child, employee or citizen. When the individuals get right the company and government will get right.
Men accept your headship with humility. The man who pounds his chest and says, "Me, Man!" is either ignorant of the pressures and responsibilities that come with the role or is living in some foolish fantasy.
Ladies, see your role as an angel's since the angels are looking at how you are in submission for they are in submission. They were created for God and you were created for a man. Makes you wonder if they are astonished when they see women act like the fallen angels and not like them. You are not in slavery. You are entrusted with the home and much of the training of the next generation. That is a high honor and responsibility. Every honorable position has menial tasks as well as dynamic ones. You must do both to succeed.
Children, you would not be here or have anything without your parents so respect and obey them.
Employees, if you are not happy where you are then leave instead of whining or practicing passive aggression. If that takes learning new skills, then do it and move on. Your employer owes you nothing more than what you signed on for so if there are no raises or bonuses you are getting what was in the agreement. Anything else is the company being gracious.
Employers, treat your employees with respect and be fair in your wages and benefits. Without you they would have no job, but without them you would have no business. Invest in them as a major asset of your business.
