Summary: You are responsible for your salvation

This thing is personal

The phrase JESUS , I take YOU as my personal LORD and SAVIOR, is no longer commonly used. A few years back, it would be said over and over again. Nowadays, it is not so common.

Scripture instructs as to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Philippians 2:12. Scripture also instructs as to guard our hearts with due diligence for from it flow the issues of life.

Beloved, even if you came into this world as part of a set of a multiple birth. You are considered as having been born alone and you will exit this world alone. It is commonly said that if you were the only person in the world JESUS would have died for you, meaning that even if you were the only person on earth, JESUS would have taken the punishment for your sins. It is therefore up to you, not up to anyone else, to sort out the issues concerning your salvation including the question of your long term eternal destination.

Ask yourself :

i. Who am I?

ii. Am I saved?

iii. From what exactly am I saved from?

iv. Who saved me?

v. Why did HE save me?

vi. What do I benefit from this salvation?

vii. What does HE want from me?

viii. Now, that I am saved or not saved, what next?

Look out for the following:

i. Being so much in a group or relationship that you forget who you are and your individual work and assignment. JESUS had HIS disciples and they formed a small group. HE was able to maintain HIS individuality and stick to the plan of salvation, even when key group members thought it was a terrible idea and tried to convince HIM otherwise. It is not a must that you fit in like a perfect piece of the puzzle. It's okay to stand out like a sore thumb.

ii. Wanting to be like others, copying others. Not valuing yourself or as my Pastor says wanting to be a clone of another person. Be yourself. Like yourself. Not only does GOD love you, HE also likes you.

iii. Be prepared occasionally to walk alone. Yes, be prepared to carry your cross alone, die alone but also be prepared and know that when good things happen to you, we shall all flock around you.

iv. Be prepared for your group or those around you to turn against you. It is recorded once that David’s men wanted to kill him after encountering a huge loss but he encouraged himself in The LORD.

v. Be forgiving. JESUS did not hold a grudge against the disciples after they abandoned Him and neither did David after they wanted to kill him, rather the disciples went on to become great ambassadors of JESUS and the men of David proceeded to become great people in the kingdom of Israel.

Contrary to what the world is teaching us, sometimes, it is okay to be alone. Not all the time. Sometimes. Use the time for reflection and rest. Come back rejuvenated and refreshed fully in touch with yourself and with your MAKER.

Beloved, do make a point of working out your own salvation with fear and trembling, the sooner the better, because nobody knows the day or the hour. It is a very personal or if you like, a very individual matter. Make a start by answering the questions above on your own behalf. Shalom Beloved.

Beloved, the scripture informs us, "And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire." Revelation 20:15.

Do you want to know JESUS as your personal Lord and Savior? Your eternity is at stake! JESUS has opened the door of salvation to every person. But there is coming a day when the door will be closed. Today is the day of salvation. Choose to be in the family of GOD. JESUS died so that we can spend eternity in Heaven with HIM. Don't delay! And if you want to begin a relationship with GOD or resume a broken one, say this: O GOD, I come to YOU today. I know I am a sinner. I believe that JESUS died on the cross to save me and HE resurrected on the third day. I repent of my sins and forsake them. I confess JESUS as my LORD and SAVIOR . I invite JESUS into my heart. By this prayer, I know I am saved. Thank YOU JESUS for saving me and making me a child of GOD. Amen
