Encouragement for Living the Christian Life:

1. We have a Partnership in the Gospel. Vs. 5 "because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now." (HCSB)

koinonia: means "sharing" or "participation".

Philippians 4:14 "Still you did well by sharing with me in my hardships." (HCSB)

1 Corinthians 1:9 "God is Faithful; by Him you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord." (HCSB)

Question: What areas of your life are you struggling by living alone?

2. This is just the beginning! VS. 6 "I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (HCSB)

God's work has started; it is threefold:

For us in Salvation.

In us for Sanctification.

And through us for Service.

Philippians 2:13 "For it is God who is working in you, enabling you both to will and to act for His good purposes." (HCSB)

Romans 5:5 "This hope does not disappoint, because God's love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us." (HCSB)

God's work will be completed!

Hebrews 12:2 "Keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of God's throne." (HCSB)

3. We have a Life that truly matters as we grow in Love and Knowledge. Vs. 9-10 "that your love will keep on growing in knowledge and every kind of discernment, so that you can determine what really matters and can be pure and blameless in the day of Christ," (HCSB)

Ephesians 5:15-17 "Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk--not as unwise people but as wise--making the most of the time, because the days are evil. So don't be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is." (HCSB)

The sincere believer is not afraid to stand in the Light!
