They Had Been With Jesus

THEY HAD BEEN WITH JESUS

Text: Acts 4:13

1. THEIR ZEAL

Peter and John were filled with zeal and the Holy Spirit. The word "Zeal" means An Intense Fervor, A Passionate Eagerness, A Earnest Enthusiasm for something or someone displayed in action!

Peter went to Jesus walking on the water --- Peter cut off the soldiers ear --- Peter out ran John to the tomb --- Peter ran naked to Jesus (Jn. 21:7) --- Peter declared He would never leave nor deny Jesus. --- It was Peter who said to Jesus, you’ll never wash my feet, and Jesus said If I wash not your feet you have no part with me, then Peter said, Then wash my feet, my hands and my head too. --- It was Peter who said, "We ought to obey God rather than men (Acts 5:29)

GOD’S PEOPLE SHOULD BE ZEALOUS AND ENTHUSED ABOUT THE WORK OF GOD!

IF GOD’S PEOPLE WOULD GET EXCITED ABOUT JESUS AND THE CHURCH, MORE PEOPLE WOULD BE SAVED! --- THEY WOULD SEE THE JOY AND ZEAL OF BEING A CHRISTIAN AND THEY WOULD SAY "I WANT WHAT YOU HAVE!" BUT INSTEAD THEY SEE A MISERABLE UNHAPPY SO CALLED CHRISTIAN ARE AND THEY SAY "IF THAT IS CHRISTIANITY, I DON’T WANT ANY!"

2. THEIR POWER (Acts 1:8) "HOLY GHOST POWER!"

"Power comes from the greek word "dunamis" which means "Dynamite"

Holy Ghost power means "An Uncontrolable Religious Enthusiasm" (Two women at Jack Hyles Church) (Uncle Bud Robinson and the Mule and the fire)

A STRENGTH WITHIN TO DO, TO BEAR, TO RESIST, --- POWER TO LIVE A PURE, HOLY, RIGHTEOUS LIFE… ONLY THROUGH THE HOLY GHOST! (Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord - Zech. 4:6) (There is therefore Now No Condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit - Rom. 8:1)

3. THEIR BOLDNESS

We need to stand and be bold witnesses! We need to be like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednigo; Daniel; David; Nathan; John The Baptist! (Story of boy buying beer in Kinston)

LET US PRAY FOR GOD TO HELP US TO BE A BOLD WITNESS, TO BE FULL OF ZEAL AND TO LIVE IN THE POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST!

SO THAT THE WORLD CAN SAY, "THEY HAVE BEEN WITH JESUS!"
