There’s a Storm Coming#2 (Matt 7: 24-27)

Intro: This week as i prayed , I ask God what to preach today . He showed me a vision of a terrible storm that was coming

The Storm

Text: Two Kinds of People

24 “Everyone who hears my words and obeys them is like a wise man who built his house on rock. 25 It rained hard, the floods came, and the winds blew and hit that house. But it did not fall, because it was built on rock. 26 Everyone who hears my words and does not obey them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 It rained hard, the floods came, and the winds blew and hit that house, and it fell with a big crash.”

1. Those that build on the rock listen to God; those

Those that build on sand don’t listen to God

A. There’s a storm coming

(1) David (listened to the Voice of God)

(a) Saul (consulted witches)

(b) Absolom (listened to himself)

(2) Rehoboam (listened to foolish counselors)

2. God protects those that build on the rock;

Those that build on sand are destroyed

A. Disciples on the sea

B. Judas (loved power and money)

3. Those that build on the rock obey God; those that

build on the sand disobey God

A. Jehoshaphat-(when the enemy came he obeyed

God and didn’t seek man’s help)

B. Ahab-(didn’t obey God ;but obeyed his wife

A/C There’s a storm coming .Are you ready?

Exodus 12:12 12 “That night I will go through the land of Egypt and kill all the firstborn animals and people in the land of Egypt. I will also punish all the gods of Egypt. I am the LORD. 13 But the blood will be a sign on the houses where you are. When I see the blood, I will pass over you. Nothing terrible will hurt you when I punish the land of Egypt.
