There Is A Name I Love To Hear

Matthew 1:21-25 (KJV)

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

THERE IS A NAME I LOVE TO HEAR

MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS

NAMES IN THE DAY AND TIMES WE ARE LIVING IN DON`T MEAN MUCH

FOR PARENTS PICK NAME FOR THERE CHILDREN FOR MANY REASONS

SOME NAMES ARE DIFFERENT AND OTHERS ARE WIERD

SOME ARE CHOSEN TO HONOR SOMEONE THEY THINK OF AS A HERO

ARE SOME WILL EVEN NAME A CHILD AFTER A FAMILY MEMBER

BUT MOST OF THE TIME THERE IS NO SPECIAL SIGNIFICANCE BEHIND THERE CHOICE OF NAME

BUT THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER IS

THAT WE HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WHAT WE NAME OUR KIDS

BECAUSE WHEN THEY START ACTING OUT

MAYBE IT`S BECAUSE THEY ARE LIVING UP TO THERE NAME

IN OTHER WORDS

IN BIBLE TIMES THINGS WERE DIFFERENT

BECAUSE NAMES WERE GIVEN FOR A REASON

IN OTHER WORDS

NAMES MEANT SOMETHING AND PEOPLE OFTEN LIVED UP TO THERE NAME

IS IT ALRIGHT IF I CALL SOME BIBICAL WITINESSES

YOU SEE JACOB MEANS -TRICKSTER

DAVID MEANS -BELOVED

ABRAHAM MEANS -FATHER OF A MULTITUDE

MOSES MEANS -DRAWN OUT

BUT THIS MORNING /EVENING I WANT TO LIFT UP A NAME I LOVE TO HEAR THATS FOUND IN VERSE 21

BECAUSE THE ANGEL COMMANDED JOSEPH TO NAME THE BABY MARY WOULD BEAR JESUS

AND I KNOW SOME OF YOU MAYBE ASKING WHY (BUT I`M GLAD YOU ASK )

BECAUSE THE NAME JESUS DESCRIBES IN DETAIL THE ENTIRETY OF ALL JESUS WAS COMING TO DO

BECAUSE HIS NAME DECLARES HIS IDENTITY

JESUS MEANS- JEHOVAH IS SALVATION

AND EVEN THOUGH HE HAD A COMMON NAME

BUT HE WAS`NT NO ORDINARY BABY

EVEN THOUGH HIS BIRTH WAS ORDINARY

BUT HIS CONCEPTION WAS EXTRA ORDINARY

IN OTHER WORDS

JESUS WAS A REAL HUMAN BABY - BUT HE WAS ALSO GOD IN THE FLESH

WHO WAS BORN IN BETHLEHEM WHO CAME TO EARTH TO LIVE AMONG MEN

IN OTHER WORDS

THE CREATOR BECAME DEPENDANT UPON THE CREATURE

BUT HIS NAME ALSO DECLARES HIS INTENTIONS

BECAUSE THE WORD SALVATION TELLS US WHAT JESUS CAME INTO THIS WORLD TO ACCOMPLISH

VERSE 21 SAYS

HE CAME TO SAVE HIS PEOPLE FROM THERE SINS

AND THE WORD SAVE MEANS --KEEP SAFE AND SOUND

TO RESCUE FROM DANGER OR DESTRUCTION

EVEN WHEN YOU GO TO PAUL LETTER TO THE CHURCH AT PHILIPPI

Philippians 2:7-11 (KJV)

7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

EVEN THOUGH HE HAS MANY NAMES IN THE BIBLE

BUT THE NAME JESUS IDENTIFIES HIM WITH THE VERY PEOPLE HE CAME TO SAVE

HE CAME NOT AS A KING --BUT AS A HUMBLE SERVANT

HE WAS`NT BORN IN A PALACE --BUT IN A MANGER

HE UNDERSTOOD POVERTY

WEARINESS

HUNGER

REJECTION

LONELINESS

TEMPTATION

AND HE ENDURED THEM ALL THAT HE COULD IDENTIFY HIMSELF WITH US AND UNDERSTAND US

TO BE ABLE TO STRENGHTEN AND COMFORT US THRU THEM ALL
