The Wrath Of God
Romans 1:18 – 32
Wrath – (orge – or’gay) anger exhibited in punishment
I. His Wrath Is Revealed – It is no secret
A. Revealed from heaven – its conception – vs. 18
B. Revealed in man – its confirmation – vs. 19
C. Revealed through judgment – its consequence – vs. 32a
II. His Wrath Is Focused – It has a purpose
A. Focused from godliness – its direction – vs. Lev. 11:44+45, Psalm 97:12
B. Focused against ungodliness – its demand – vs. 26-31
C. Focused on reunion – its destination – vs 32b
III. His Wrath Is Justified – It is absolutely right
A. Justified by creation – its proof – vs. 20
B. Justified by worship – its power – vs. 21-22
C. Justified by salvation – its pardon – I Cor. 10:13
Conclusion:
His wrath is conceived in heaven
Confirmed through man
And its final result will be reaped through judgement
His wrath comes from godliness
Is focused against ungodliness
And its end result will bring God and man face to face
His wrath is justified through creation
Can be soothed through worship
And is quenched through the blood of Jesus Christ!
