The Word Curse(Prov 18:20-21)

"Death and Life are in the power of the tongue. And they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."

Last week we finished up the Soul Winner series. Through it we learned the character of the fisherman is a friend, gives/speaks life and rebukes those he/she loves. We know that none of this is accomplished without the WORD of God.

Word: something that is said (spoken) {Gk: Eirein}

Its our form of communication which resonates to our ear drum first, but settles in our hearts and minds. Twenty-six individual letters coming together and uniting to form meaning. Every word created has meaning. With meaning we have some sense of direction. It's like a lighthouse to our ship in the midst of a storm. The north star to our compass when direction is lost.

But without the WORD, what do we have? Nothing! Or more specifically with corrupt WORD, we have nothing.

@@(John 1:1-3)..."In the beginning was the WORD and the WORD was with God and the Word was God. In the same was the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."`

So, in the beginning God used the WORD to create the WORLD and life on it. Funny how the addition or subtraction of one letter can change our thoughts and focus. It was the word that brought life to the atoms of the nucleus to bring about the universe. It was the WORD as he said let there be light that come forth from the darkness of space. Was the word that suggested for God to make man is his own image. It was the lack of exercising the word in Eden that brought man to his down fall.

What does the word do to someone living in the flesh or someone living in the spirit. Lets go back to Prov 18. It simply brings Death and it brings Life.

Without even thinking, people in our lives, since we were small, spoke word curses over us and directly into our future.

You'll turn out just like that dead beat father of yours. That good for nothing so and so.

It was the word grandma spoke saying.....your just as stupid as your mother.

Your momma was a drunk and so will you.

I doubt you'll even graduate

Who wants someone that looks like you

That job isn't for you. The qualifications don't match

Sticks and stones may break my bones but WOOOOORDS will never hurt me! Out of pure ignorance and hatred, created words now become destructive words with no sense knowledge of the harm it causes. Lives have been utterly destroyed because of it.

To this very day, adults have yet to excel in their life because of the wall or words built before them. A dark cloud above their head filled with negativity.

Death: Destroys foundations, hearts and minds, spirits and finances, marriages and jobs.

@@(Is 55:11) " So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish(do) that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it."

@@

So each word I speak has a purpose, a driving force behind it. What are the intentions of my words. Paul said we are to encourage and edify the body of Christ. Who have you destroyed last week? Who have you lifted up?

@@(Matt 12:36-37) "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by the words thou shall be justified, and by thy words thou shall be condemned."

@@

Be careful in what you say. The old saying goes, "If you can't say nothing nice don't say nothing at all."

But God told me that no weapon formed against me shall prosper. He is know showing that the word can also bring LIFE and protect it.

@@(James 3:3) "Behold, we put bits in the horses mouth that they may obey us; and we t urn about their whole body."

When the bit is in the horses mouth, it suppresses the tongue and goes in the direction of the rider. So if you want your circumstances to changes, suppress that tongue of your and the enemies and do and about face.

David said in...

@@(Psalm 119:105), "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."

Those words curses are broken today. No longer will you roam in depression. Lift your head and spirit up in the name of Jesus.

When Satan tries to get you, tell him, my father told me that in Matt 4:4 "it is written man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

Timely message since we are constantly being bombarded with negative words. We must be diligent to guard our ear and eye gates and make sure the word of God is our reality.
