The Word of the Lord’ part 2. Psa 9:20 “Put them in fear, O LORD; that the nations may know themselves to be but men.” The word of the Lord is our guide into salvation, preservation, resurrection and eternal life. Your destination lye’s somewhere between where you are and where you’re going. Gods’ word is a revelation to us; it gives us the rights and wrongs of life. There are no gray areas in it and to assume that there are is misleading. When we can’t find specifics, we just need to look a little harder. The phrase,”The word of the Lord”, is used over 255 times in scripture, the significants of this is to emphasize the truth in Gods word, to show its relationship to man. God speaks to those who will listen and to those who will obey. Psa 18:30 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler {a defense, a shield, a ruler} to all those that trust in him. This verse is showing us that nothing needs to be added to Gods word, it needs not to be changed or altered, but many today wish to do just that. They try to alter Gods word to justify their sin or the sins of others. Have you ever had someone come to you and use a little bit of one verse of scripture and add a little of another, running them together to make a new verse? This is just an example; people who believe that they know much about scripture are those who actually know the least. Harsh words? Their not mine, but the word of God, 1Co 8:2 And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. We have to be careful about the things of God, when we get to the point that we think we know everything about Gods word then we actually have just begun learning. For our instruction in the things of God, it is needful that the same precept and the same line should be often repeated to us, that we may the better understand them. God, by his word, calls us to what is really for our advantage,
Psa 105:19 Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him.
Isa 28:13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken. Being taught time and time again, being refreshed in the word of the Lord, for understanding and clarity. After we’ve read, we read again, revelation upon revelation, word upon word, a continuous cycle to learn and grow in Gods word, that’s how our Father in Heaven talks to us.
Isa 66:5 Hear the word of the LORD,ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.
Jer 2:31 O generation, see ye the word of the LORD. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We are lords; we will come no more unto thee?
Jer 6:10 To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.
Jer 8:9 The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them? What has become of our integrity, what has become of our diligence, can we always live in the world of compromise or shall we reject the false teaching and come out from among them and be renewed in the word of the Lord?
1Pe 1:25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word, which by the gospel is preached unto you. What is the word that we hear? Is it the word of the Lord is it the life of the Christian, do we understand the beginning to the end, I pray so. Those that teach need to be taught again. Heb 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; The word of the Lord is powerful, those that reject it are condemned already for their lack of faith. Don’t we understand that we serve a God that by the mere thought, created the worlds and heavens, created the oceans and rivers, by His own hand created He man and with His own breath man became a living soul? So then why do we fight and complain at every chance, why do we try to belittle others for their inconsistencies and their lack of knowledge. Everything that man is, is of no consequence to God. Mans wisdom is foolishness to God and mans strength is weaker than Gods weakness. And Gods word came to ;whom? Who is listening, who is obedient, who is worthy and who is willing to hear the word of the Lord. Will it come to you in revelation, in a dream in a vision or will it come to someone else willing to accept the responsibility? Deu 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.
