THE WIND IS BLOWING

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: John 3:8

Supporting Texts: Ezekiel 37:9-10, Acts 2:1-4, Exodus 14:21, 1 Kings 18:45

INTRODUCTION:

The wind is a mysterious force. You cannot see it, but you can feel it. You don’t know where it’s coming from or where it’s going, but you can see its effects. The Bible often uses wind to symbolise the Holy Spirit, divine movement, or supernatural change. When the wind of God blows, the impossible becomes possible, the dead come back to life, and the Red Sea parts.

Today, I want to pray for you  prophetically: The wind is blowing again! And it’s blowing in your direction. The question is: what will it blow away in your life, and what will it bring to you?

1.    WHEN THE WIND BLOWS, DEAD THINGS COME TO LIFE

a) God's wind can bring restoration (Ezekiel 37:9-10)

The dry bones were many, very dry. But when the wind came, they rose as a mighty army.

b) It doesn’t matter how dry your situation is (Job 14:7-9)

Even a tree cut down can live again through the scent of water—what about you?

c) The wind of God carries resurrection power (Romans 8:11)

The same Spirit that raised Jesus can quicken your body.

d) The wind reverses hopelessness

One blow from the Spirit and the valley of death becomes a place of destiny.

e) Biblical Example: Lazarus (John 11:43-44) – Though he was dead for four days, when the divine wind spoke, he came forth.

2.    WHEN THE WIND BLOWS, OBSTACLES ARE REMOVED

a) The east wind blew all night to divide the Red Sea (Exodus 14:21)

The same sea that stood as an obstacle became a highway.

b) When God is behind the wind, no mountain can stand (Zechariah 4:7)

Mountains melt like wax before Him.

c) The wind breaks barriers

Every satanic resistance against your destiny must give way.

d) The wind makes a way where there is no way (Isaiah 43:19)

God's wind is creative and solution-oriented.

e) Biblical Example: Israel at the Red Sea – what Pharaoh saw as a trap, the wind turned into a triumph (Exodus 14:22-28).

3.    WHEN THE WIND BLOWS, REVIVAL COMES

a) The Day of Pentecost began with a sound of a rushing mighty wind (Acts 2:1-4)

That wind marked the birth of the church and revival fire.

b) The wind symbolises the outpouring of the Holy Spirit

When He comes, lives are changed.

c) Revival fire comes with the wind

Let the wind blow again in our churches, homes, and nations.

d) You become empowered when the wind touches you (Acts 1:8)

Power to heal, to witness, to live holy comes through that wind.

e) Biblical Example: The Apostles – ordinary men became bold firebrands after the wind blew at Pentecost.

4.    WHEN THE WIND BLOWS, SHOWERS FOLLOW

a) Elijah told Ahab – I hear the sound of abundance of rain (1 Kings 18:45)

But before the rain, there was the wind.

b) The wind is a sign that the season is changing

After delay and drought comes divine release.

c) The wind blows away famine and brings fulfilment

God is turning your drought into overflow.

d) If you can hear the wind, rejoice—the rain is not far

The dry spell is ending.

e) Biblical Example: Samaria (2 Kings 7:1-20) – In 24 hours, the wind of divine intervention brought an end to years of famine.

CONCLUSION:

Beloved, the wind is blowing. The question is, are you ready for what it will bring? For some, it will bring refreshing and revival. For others, it may blow away whatever God did not plant. You must decide what the wind will do in your life.

ALTAR CALL:

There is no better time to surrender to Jesus than now. The wind of the Spirit is blowing, and He is calling you. If you are not born again or you’ve gone far from God, come now and let the wind blow new life into you.

PRAYER POINTS:

1.  Father, thank You for the wind of Your Spirit.

2.   Lord, let Your wind blow over every dry area of my life.

3.  Let every dead dream and purpose come back to life.

4.   O wind of God, remove every obstacle standing in my way.

5.   Let Your wind bring revival into my family and church.

6.   Holy Spirit, blow away every seed of sin and iniquity in my life.

7.  Father, as Your wind blows, let my destiny arise.

8.  Let divine favour be blown in my direction.

9.   I command every Red Sea to part by the wind of God.

10.  Father, let the wind bring the rain of abundance into my life.
