Summary: A message about our future if we follow the Lord in our lives. Our endless hope.

Good Morning.

Stand with me and hold up your Bible and say this with me.

This is my Bible

I am what it says I am

I have what it says I have

I can do what it says I can do.

Today I will be taught more of the Word of God

I boldly confess:

My mind is alert,

My heart is receptive.

I will never be the same.

I am about to receive the incorruptible, indestructible, ever-living seed of the Word of God.

I will never be the same—

I'll never be the same, in Jesus’ Name!

Amen.

“THE WAY HOME”

Turn with me in your Bible to John 14:2–7 and say, "Amen" when you are there.

“In My Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also.

And you know the way to where I am going.”

Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going. How can we know the way?”

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also. From now on you do know Him and have seen Him.”

I. JESUS SPEAKS INTO OUR TROUBLE

John 14 begins with the words: “Let not your heart be troubled.”

Jesus was speaking to disciples who were afraid, confused, and uncertain.

Just like them, many of us tonight may be carrying:

Anxiety over the future

Fear about our families

Concerns about finances

Worry about health or loved ones

Grief or loneliness that weighs heavily on our hearts

But Jesus doesn’t just tell us not to be troubled—He tells us why:

Because He has already prepared a place, a plan, and a path.

II. “IN MY FATHER’S HOUSE…” — A PROMISE OF HOME

Jesus said, “In My Father’s house are many rooms.”

This isn’t:

A temporary shelter

A hotel for weary travelers

A hope based on wishful thinking

No—this is a permanent, prepared place made by the Savior Himself.

It tells us three things:

1. God Wants You with Him.

He is not preparing a place for strangers.

He is preparing a place for His children.

2. Heaven Is Not Accidental—It’s Intentional.

Jesus doesn’t send angels to build it.

He says, “I go… I prepare…”

The One who saved you is the One who prepares your home.

3. This World Is Not Our Final Address.

Your pain is temporary.

Your struggles are temporary.

Your tears are temporary.

Heaven is eternal.

III. “I WILL COME AGAIN…” — A PROMISE OF RETURN

What a promise!

Jesus doesn’t just prepare a place—

He personally comes back for us.

This is the heart of God:

Not only to save you…

Not only to forgive you…

But to bring you to Himself.

Christianity is not about earning heaven—

It’s about being with Jesus.

IV. THOMAS’ QUESTION IS OUR QUESTION

Thomas says what many of us feel:

“Lord, we don’t know where You’re going.

How can we know the way?”

We’ve all been there:

Not knowing the next step

Wondering what direction to take

Trying to navigate storms

Searching for meaning, identity, purpose

Jesus answers with one of the most powerful statements in all of Scripture:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life.”

He does not say:

I will show you the way

I will teach you the truth

I will give you life

He says:

“I AM the way.”

“I AM the truth.”

“I AM the life.”

The way to the Father is not through religion, rituals, good behavior, or personal achievements.

The way is a person.

The way is Jesus.

A missionary once told the story of being in a remote part of the jungle. The guide who was leading them hacked through the thick vines with a machete and moved with incredible confidence.

The missionary finally asked, “Are you sure this is the right way?”

The guide stopped, looked back, and said:

“In this place, there is no path. I am the way.”

He didn’t mean he was the direction—

He meant that following him was the only way forward.

This is exactly what Jesus says to us.

When life feels confusing…

When you can’t see the next step…

When darkness surrounds you…

When the future seems uncertain…

Jesus whispers:

“Follow Me. I am the way.”

Come to the Way, the Truth, and the Life

Today Jesus offers:

A home prepared for you

A Savior who loves you

A path that leads to life eternal

A relationship with the Father
