The War On Marriage

Summary: Scripture gives us a clear picture of the Godly marriage. Yet this world, and the self-centered god of it, is trying to destroy marriage as we know it.
Scripture gives us a clear picture of the Godly marriage. Yet this world, and the self-centered god of it, is trying to destroy marriage as we know it.
1. Disavowed its Authority
a. God is the Author of marriage, not man.
b. The World has presumed authority of one of God’s sacred ordinances, yet denies God’s prominent role in marriage.
2. Converted its Commitment
a. From a covenant to a contract
Covenant: a solemn commitment that is binding on all parties
Contract : a formal or legally binding agreement
b. This World allows divorce for almost any reason.
3. Changed its Constitution
a. When God saw it wasn’t good for Man to be alone, He created Woman.
b. Marriage is the foundation of a stable family.
c. Same-sex relationships aren’t God’s established plan for marriage.
d. The World has put same-sex marriage on the forefront, with nearly every Hollywood star and approval-seeking politician decrying the civil rights of homosexuals.
