The Unique Jesus - Introduction Series
Contributed by Elmer Towns on Dec 4, 2023 (message contributor)
Summary: No matter who you are in life, and what your condition, Jesus can help you, save you, and use you.
A. THE UNIQUE JESUS
1. He was fully God and fully man at the same time. “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16:16). “Jesus … asleep” (Mark 4:38).
2. He knew a person’s problem before being told. “Jesus …knew all men, He needed not that anyone would tell him, because He knew all things” (John 2:24-25, ELT).
3. Unique in conception (Matthew 1:21-23). Never sinned (1 Peter 2:27). Unique in death (Mark 15:33), unique in resurrection (John 2:19), unique in time, “Before Abraham was, I AM” (John 8:58). Unique sermons, “No one, ever spoke the way this Man spoke” (John 7:46). His uniqueness answers sin. “No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). Offers unique freedom (John 8:36). Our unique position in Him. “You in Me and I in you” (John 15:5, 7).
4. Different kinds of miracles:
a. Sick, blind, injured, internal (issue of blood).
b. Demonic.
c. Natural, walk on water, still storm, etc.
d. Physical, feed 5,000, water to wine, etc.
e. Raised the dead.
f. Nature, fig tree wither.
B. JESUS SOLVES DIFFERENT KINDS OF PROBLEMS
1. Woman at the well – empty life and future. “Water I give … never thirst again” (John 4:13-14, ELT).
2. Man born blind, physical inability. “Go wash …” (John 9:7). Obeyed Jesus’ command.
3. Woman with an issue of blood (Mark 5:25-34). Internal physical issue. “Touched His garment … who touched Me?” (Mark 5:27, 31). Jesus used power unknowingly.
4. Man with inability to walk, hopeless. “No man ... put me in when water is stirred up” (John 5:7). “Stand up … pick up …walk” (John 5:8).
5. Rich young ruler (Luke 18:18, 30) Materialism. “Sell all … follow Me” (Luke 18:22).
6. Healing the Nobleman’s son (John 4:46-54). __________________________________
7. Woman with adultery addiction. “Such should be stoned” (John 8:5). “Go … sin no more” (John 8:11).
8. Nicodemus – religious blindness. “Born again” (John 3:3, 7).
C. TEN PRACTICAL PRINCIPLES
1. No matter who you are in life, and what your condition, Jesus can help you, save you, and use you.
2. No matter how difficult your situation, Jesus has the answer.
3. Jesus gives help and hope in different ways according to the time and circumstances.
4. Jesus does not always give you help the way you expect but gives what you need. “Thy faith (not touch) has made you whole” (Mark 5:34).
5. Sometimes Jesus’ help is filling an empty life with hope and a future.
6. Sometimes we must do something to receive help from Jesus. “Go wash.”
7. Sometimes it is our faith that activates Jesus’ help/healing. “Thy faith has made thee whole.”
8. Jesus comes to those who have little and expect nothing but He builds our expectation/faith that leads to an answer.
9. Sometimes Jesus expects our complete dedication/yieldedness before He works. “Go sell … come follow Me” (Luke 18:29).
10. Jesus helps all who willingly come to Him and who willingly do what He commands.
If you have never really accepted Jesus as your personal Savior, would you do it right now? Do not delay or put it off. If you would like to receive Christ by faith, pray this simple prayer in your heart:
Dear Lord, I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I believe Jesus died for my sins on the cross, and rose again the third day. I repent of my sins. By faith I receive the Lord Jesus as my Savior. You promised to save me, and I believe You, because You are God and cannot lie. I believe right now that the Lord Jesus is my personal Savior, and that all my sins are forgiven through His precious blood. I thank You, dear Lord, for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
If you prayed that prayer, God heard you and saved you. I personally want to welcome you to the family of God and rejoice with you.
