Summary: A message contrasting God’s way & man’s way to salvation.

THE TWO WAYS

Matthew 7:13-14

INTRO: The way of right and the way of wrong. The way of good and the way

of bad. The way of holiness and the way of sin.

One way leads to hell, destruction, suffering, everything that is bad. The other way leads to Heaven, pleasure, glory, and everything that is good.

I. THE STRAIGHT AND NARROW WAY OF LIFE.

A. Narrow, not room for the things of the world.

B. Straight: to walk this way one must go straight in his living.

C. Jesus Said, "I Am the Way" (John 14:6).

D. To walk in the narrow way is to walk in Christ.

II. THE BROAD AND DOWNWARD WAY OF TEE WICKED.

A. The way that seems right (Prov. 16:25).

B. The ways of man (Prov. 5:21).

C. The way of the slothful (15:19).

D. The way of the fool (12:15).

E. The way of the ungodly (Psalm 1:6).

F. The broad way of death.

G. The way is broad and roomy. The world is traveling down this way.

III. QUALIFICATION TO WALK IN THE NARROW WAY.

A. It is the way of holiness (Isaiah 35:8).

B. The redeemed shall walk there (Isaiah 35-9).

C. Must lay aside every weight and sin (Heb. 12:1).

D. Not room on the narrow way for the world.

IV. THE EXPENSIVE AND DANGEROUS PILGRIMAGE

ON THE BROAD AND DOWNWARD WAY.

A. Surrounded by the world, and blinded by sin.

B. Traffic moves fast. Men often come to a sudden tragic end.

C. The broad way leads to nothing good, coming to the end everything

is lost.

CONC: The two ways were set before Adam and. Eve. Every person since has

had to choose.

You now stand. at the parting of the ways. Chose now the road you will walk.
