THE TIME OF YOUR VISITATION

INTRODUCTION:

There are moments in life when heaven intervenes in the affairs of men. These moments are what Scripture calls divine visitations. A visitation is not an ordinary occurrence but a sacred season when God draws near to reveal His power, fulfil His promises, and release His blessings. It is a time when the supernatural collides with the natural, and the impossible becomes possible. Divine visitations bring about transformation, restoration, healing, and deliverance. The psalmist declared, “Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come” (Psalm 102:13). When God visits, favour is released, yokes are broken, and destinies are realigned.

Yet, the tragedy of missing one’s time of visitation is sobering. Jesus wept over Jerusalem, lamenting that they did not recognise the hour of their divine visitation (Luke 19:41-44). Their blindness to God’s timing brought destruction, scattering, and sorrow. This shows us that divine visitations are not to be taken lightly. They are moments of destiny that require sensitivity, discernment, and faith-filled response. To miss it is to forfeit blessings that may not return in the same measure.

But for those who discern and seize their moment, divine visitation changes everything. Abraham and Sarah experienced laughter after years of barrenness, Elizabeth’s reproach was taken away, the lame man at the Beautiful Gate walked into destiny, and Blind Bartimaeus received his sight. All these testimonies were tied to recognising and responding to God’s visitation. Beloved, the word of the Lord today is clear: your time of visitation has come. Do not let unbelief, distraction, or delay rob you of the blessings prepared for you.

1. GOD APPOINTS TIMES AND SEASONS OF VISITATION

a) God works according to divine timing (Ecclesiastes 3:1). His purposes are fulfilled at appointed seasons, and nothing can hasten or delay His perfect plan.

b) His visitation is always purposeful (Genesis 21:1-2). When God visits, it is never casual; it carries divine intent to accomplish a set agenda in your life.

c) When the time is due, nothing can stop it (Habakkuk 2:3). No power of darkness, no delay, and no opposition can hinder a divine visitation.

d) Missing God’s timing leads to delay and sorrow (Luke 19:44). To miss His appointed time is to walk in regret and miss the fullness of destiny.

Biblical Example: Sarah conceived and gave birth to Isaac at the set time of God’s visitation (Genesis 18:10; 21:1-2).

2. SIGNS THAT YOUR TIME OF VISITATION HAS COME

a) Unusual stirring in the spirit (John 5:4). Just as the angel stirred the waters, there is often a stirring in the spirit man before God moves.

b) Divine orchestration of events beyond human control (Ruth 2:3). Seemingly ordinary steps are divinely ordered to bring you into destiny.

c) Prophetic words and confirmations (Amos 3:7). God often announces His visitation through His servants to prepare His people.

d) A sense of urgency to act in obedience (Acts 9:6). When the Lord visits, He compels you to respond quickly and decisively.

Biblical Example: The lame man at the Beautiful Gate knew his time had come when Peter and John spoke to him, and he received strength in his legs (Acts 3:6-8).

3. WHAT TO DO IN YOUR TIME OF VISITATION

a) Open your heart in faith (Mark 11:24). Faith is the key that unlocks the blessings of God’s visitation.

b) Respond promptly in obedience (Luke 1:38). Delay in obedience often leads to missed opportunities.

c) Engage in prayer and worship (Acts 16:25-26). Prayer positions you to receive, while worship attracts the presence of God.

d) Connect with God’s servants and prophetic instructions (2 Chronicles 20:20). Obedience to prophetic directions is crucial to maximising divine visitation.

Biblical Example: Blind Bartimaeus cried out persistently until Jesus stopped, resulting in his healing (Mark 10:46-52).

4. DANGERS OF MISSING YOUR VISITATION

a) Spiritual blindness blocks discernment (2 Corinthians 4:4). The enemy blinds the minds of men to keep them from recognising God’s time.

b) Distractions and busyness cause negligence (Luke 10:40-42). When you are too busy with lesser matters, you miss the greater.

c) Doubt and unbelief shut the door (Hebrews 3:19). Without faith, one cannot partake of the blessings of divine visitation.

d) Pride and disobedience repel divine encounters (1 Samuel 15:23). God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

Biblical Example: Jerusalem missed her time of visitation, and the result was destruction and desolation (Luke 19:41-44).

5. THE BLESSINGS OF DIVINE VISITATION

a) Long-standing problems are solved (John 5:6-9). What years of effort cannot accomplish, one visitation can settle.

b) Joy and laughter are restored (Genesis 21:6). God’s visitation replaces sorrow with joy.
