The Three-Fold Duty Of Life

Appropiation, Formation, and Donation.

1) Appropiation (taking)...

a) Cup of salvation- Psa 116:13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.

b) Instruction-Pro 4:13 Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.

Pro 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Act 9:6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

c) Divine strength-Isa 27:5 Or let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me; and he shall make peace with me.^^^Baptism Of Power^^^

d) All of life’s opportunities-Luk 19:13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. ^^^Parable of the ten pounds^^^

e) The Water of Life-Rev 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

2) Formation (making)...

a) After the Divine plan-Exo 25:40 And look that thou make them after their pattern, which was shewed thee in the mount.

Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

b) A perfect example-Joh 13:15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

c) Life to be transformed, NOT conformed-Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

2Co 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

d) Danger of old ideals-1Pe 1:14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

Heb 10:39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

3) Donation (giving)...

2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

a) With a free hand-Mat 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

b) Give or lose-Mat 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

Act 5:1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,

Act 5:2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

Act 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

Act 5:4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

Act 5:5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

Act 5:6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.

Act 5:7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.

Act 5:8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.

Act 5:9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

Act 5:10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

c) The blessedness of giving-Act 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
