THE SUPERNATURAL LIFE OF THE BELIEVER
By Rev. Samuel Arimoro
Main Text: Mark 16:17-18

INTRODUCTION:
The Christian life is not an ordinary life. From the moment a person is born again, they are brought into a realm of supernatural living. Jesus never intended for His followers to merely survive; He commissioned them to live and operate in divine authority and power. The signs that Jesus mentioned in Mark 16:17–18 are not optional—they are expected results of a life that is filled with the Holy Spirit.
Living a supernatural life means that the believer is no longer bound by natural limitations. God has made available His Spirit, His name, and His Word to empower His children to reign over sickness, sin, and satanic oppression. The early church modelled this lifestyle, walking in miracles, healings, and dominion over the forces of darkness.
As end-time believers, we are called to walk in the same dimension—and even greater. This is not reserved for a few “special people.” It is for every believer who walks in faith and obedience. You have been ordained by God to live supernaturally every day of your life.
1. SUPERNATURAL LIFE BEGINS WITH FAITH IN CHRIST
a) Faith connects us to the power of God (John 14:12)
Jesus said those who believe in Him will do greater works.
b) New birth gives us access to the supernatural (2 Corinthians 5:17)
The moment we are in Christ, we become new creatures with divine potential.
c) Faith is the platform for signs and wonders (Hebrews 11:6)
Without faith, it is impossible to experience the supernatural life.
d) Unbelief limits the flow of God's power (Matthew 13:58)
Even Jesus could not do mighty works where there was no faith.
e) Biblical Example: The woman with the issue of blood was healed because of her faith (Mark 5:34).
2. THE NAME OF JESUS GIVES US SUPERNATURAL AUTHORITY
a) Believers are authorised to use the name of Jesus (Mark 16:17)
“In my name they shall cast out devils…”
b) Demons obey when the name of Jesus is invoked in faith (Philippians 2:10)
At His name, every knee must bow.
c) The name of Jesus brings healing and deliverance (Acts 3:6)
Peter said, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!”
d) The name of Jesus is a weapon against spiritual enemies (Proverbs 18:10)
It is a strong tower the righteous run into.
e) Biblical Example: Paul cast out a spirit of divination using the name of Jesus (Acts 16:18).
3. THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERS US FOR THE SUPERNATURAL
a) The Holy Spirit is the source of supernatural power (Acts 1:8)
“You shall receive power after the Holy Ghost is come upon you.”
b) He enables us to speak in new tongues (Mark 16:17)
Tongues are a sign and a gift for spiritual edification and warfare.
c) The Spirit imparts gifts for miracles, healing, and prophecy (1 Corinthians 12:7–10)
Every believer can manifest the Spirit for the benefit of others.
d) The Spirit resurrects and quickens our mortal bodies (Romans 8:11)
He makes the supernatural life possible in our daily walk.
e) Biblical Example: Stephen, full of the Spirit, did wonders and signs among the people (Acts 6:8).
4. THE SUPERNATURAL LIFE IS PROOF OF THE GOSPEL
a) Signs follow those who believe (Mark 16:17–18)
The supernatural is the believer's signature of divine backing.
b) Miracles validate the message of Christ (Hebrews 2:4)
God bears witness through signs, wonders, and gifts of the Spirit.
c) The world is waiting to see a demonstration of God's power (Romans 8:19)
Creation is longing for the manifestation of the sons of God.
d) A powerless Christian life contradicts the message of the cross (1 Corinthians 2:4–5)
Our faith must rest not in words alone, but in the power of God.
e) Biblical Example: Philip preached in Samaria and many believed because of the miracles they saw (Acts 8:6–8).
CONCLUSION:
Beloved, the supernatural life is not a fantasy—it is your heritage in Christ. You have been saved to manifest God’s power. The signs mentioned in Mark 16 are for you, and they should follow you wherever you go. God wants to use your hands to heal the sick, your voice to cast out devils, and your faith to overcome every natural limitation.
But to live this way, you must walk in faith, stay filled with the Spirit, and boldly step out in obedience. The world doesn’t need more religion—it needs living proofs of God’s presence and power. You are that proof! Rise up and walk in the supernatural life that Jesus died to give you.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, increase my faith to believe and walk in the supernatural.
2. Father, fill me afresh with the Holy Ghost and fire.
