Do we have real life?

To show that real life came from the Trinity: GOD

IV. TEXT:

John 6:63 (Amplified Bible)

It is the Spirit Who gives life [He is the Life-giver]; the flesh conveys no benefit whatever [there is no profit in it]. The words (truths) that I have been speaking to you are spirit and life.

V. THESIS:

Real life came from the Trinity: GOD

VI. TITLE:

The SPIRIT and the WORD gives life

VII. EXPLICATION:

A. Author: Apostle John

B. Date written: uncertain. probably late in the first century

C. Purpose: to inspire faith in JESUS CHRIST as the SON of GOD

D. To whom written: seekers of the truth

E. Main theme: encounter with JESUS CHRIST demands a response

F. Keyword: believe

G. Key verse:

John 20:31 (Amplified Bible)

But these are written (recorded) in order that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ (the Anointed One), the Son of God, and that through believing and cleaving to and trusting and relying upon Him you may have life through (in) His name [through Who He is].

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. The SPIRIT gives life

"It is the Spirit Who gives life [He is the Life-giver]"

Romans 8:11 (Amplified Bible)

And if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, [then] He Who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you.

2 Corinthians 3:6 (Amplified Bible)

[It is He] Who has qualified us [making us to be fit and worthy and sufficient] as ministers and dispensers of a new covenant [of salvation through Christ], not [ministers] of the letter (of legally written code) but of the Spirit; for the code [of the Law] kills, but the [Holy] Spirit makes alive.

1 Peter 3:18 (Amplified Bible)

For Christ [the Messiah Himself] died for sins once for all, the Righteous for the unrighteous (the Just for the unjust, the Innocent for the guilty), that He might bring us to God. In His human body He was put to death, but He was made alive in the spirit,

It is the HOLY SPIRIT that gives life to all of us, the same HOLY SPIRIT that raised the LORD from the dead is within us and He has made our body His Temple to dwell in.

1 Corinthians 3:16 (Amplified Bible)

Do you not discern and understand that you [the whole church at Corinth] are God’s temple (His sanctuary), and that God’s Spirit has His permanent dwelling in you [to be at home in you, collectively as a church and also individually]?

1 Corinthians 6:19 (Amplified Bible)

Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own,

The flesh refers to as "man's carnal nature"

Romans 7:18 (Amplified Bible)

For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot perform it. [I have the intention and urge to do what is right, but no power to carry it out.]

Romans 8:8 (Amplified Bible)

So then those who are living the life of the flesh [catering to the appetites and impulses of their carnal nature] cannot please or satisfy God, or be acceptable to Him.

Romans 8:13-14 (Amplified Bible)

For if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever.

For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

We are to be led by the HOLY SPIRIT and not by our carnal nature so we will not experience death (separation from GOD).

B. The Words of the LORD JESUS CHRIST are spirit and life

"The words (truths) that I have been speaking to you are spirit and life."

John 6:68 (Amplified Bible)

Simon Peter answered, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words (the message) of eternal life.

John 14:24 (Amplified Bible)

Anyone who does not [really] love Me does not observe and obey My teaching. And the teaching which you hear and heed is not Mine, but [comes] from the Father Who sent Me.

The world is a practice arena, the real game of life is in Heaven, the most tragic event worst than death that can happen to you is while here on earth, you never came to accept the LORD JESUS CHRIST as your LORD and SAVIOUR and never grown in His relationship with Him.
