Youth Sermon: The Song of Moses

Introduction

What's up, guys? Today, we're talking about Moses, a guy who knew a thing or two about God's never-ending love, from the palace to the desert.

Imagine you're on a roller coaster. You start at the top, feeling like a king or queen, then suddenly you're plunging down, feeling lost and scared. That's Moses' life. Born a Hebrew, raised as an Egyptian prince, then running for his life to become a shepherd in the desert for 40 years. Talk about a wild ride!

Psalm 90 - The Song of Moses

Moses' life was a roller coaster, but he wrote Psalm 90, known as the Song of Moses, to remind us that God is the ultimate ride operator. He's our safe place, our creator, and he's been around forever. We, on the other hand, are like those roller coaster cars, frail and finite, totally dependent on the track.

Moses tells us to pray big. Ask for forgiveness, for compassion, for love, for joy. Ask God to make up for the hard times and to show us the cool stuff He's doing. And ask Him to make our lives matter.

Conclusion

Moses' life was a wild ride, but he knew who was in control. He knew he could ask God for anything, and so can we. Whether it's forgiveness, love, mercy, or just help with your math homework, God's got you. If you've never asked Jesus for forgiveness, why not do it today?

The Psalms are like the ultimate playlist, full of songs for every mood and situation. Let's keep turning to them for hope and perspective, and let's keep praising God, no matter what.

Prayer

Hey God, help us to feel your love every morning and trust in your guidance. Make our work matter and give us the guts to praise you no matter what's going on in our lives. Amen.
