The SILENT Number 2
Exodus 17:9 So Moses said to Joshua, "Choose men for us and go out, fight against Amalek. Tomorrow I will station myself on the top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand."
Thomas Cup Final 2022: India has defeated the 14-time champions Indonesia to win the Thomas Cup for the first time. First time!!! After the triumphant 1975 World Cup Hockey team, the victorious 1983 cricket World cup led by Kapil Dev, the 2011 champion unit under M.S.Dhoni , now Indian Badminton added to these past glorious achievements. India scripted a historic 3-0 win over Indonesia in the Thomas Cup final in Bangkok, on Sunday, May 15 2022. I would like to mention about the star shuttler K. Srikanth who played a major role for the team’s victory. The coach said, ‘for close to a decade be has been the silent No.2 in the support staff of the Indian Badminton teams. ‘ Wow, look at the perseverance!! However, a DAY came when he could display his credentials in front of the whole world and make his nation proud. Kidambi Srikanth Pens Emotional Note On Thomas Cup Win'Words Fail Me But I Tried': The Indian ace shuttler stayed unbeaten throughout the tournament and won the trophy for the country. Kidambi Srikanth helped take the team across the finish line with a victory over Jonatan Christie in the final. Hurray! As you wait: Practice patiently, practice confidently, practice courageously, practice diligently, practice dexterously, looking forward for victory with daring expectancy. Anybody listening?
There’s a fighter in you! Are you listening? Don’t succumb to negativity, discouragement, failures, pain, sickness, doctor’s report, job lay off, financial mess or for that matter anything, don’t allow it to sink you, instead arise stronger from the situation. Are you listening?
In the above scripture, Moses said: “Joshua, choose men for us and go out, fight against Amalek!” Among the 6 lakh people Moses knew whom to call; moreover, this was the first time Joshua comes to the lime light to the fore, all the while he was hidden behind the bush for several years as Number 2 behind Moses. Joshua was not eating and sleeping but he was practicing for the GREAT DAY, that’s why without hesitation he answered the call and the Bible says verse 10, “Joshua did as Moses told him, and fought against Amalek..” Hallelujah! Moses, Hur and Aaron join hands to uphold Joshua in prayer, while Joshua fought the enemies. Verse 13 says, “So Joshua overwhelmed Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.” This is team work!
TEAM SPIRIT: The enemy could not stand the oneness, love and discipline which shattered the enemies. The coach also said this about the Indian team, “The players showed great team spirit and it was possible because of so many things like regular team meetings, dress code, going together for dinner and breakfast. “
We need unflagging energy, passion, persistence, patience, punctilious, assiduous and nerves of steel to succeed. Friend, no fun in just making statements, once aboard with God we need to learn the skills of growing in the Lord and be ready for the onslaught of the enemy.
SUDDEN ATTACK
Exodus 17:8 Then Amalek came and fought against Israel at Rephidim.
An avalanche of problems will ‘suddenly’ come on us, have you noticed that? While you solve one, the other is ready to come upon you….and smash you…so how do I confront these issues? Verse 8 starts with ‘then Amalek came and fought’, so I moved to verse 7 to read the matter, it says: the Israelites asked” "Is the LORD among us, or not?" Look at that! The devil knew this is the right time to enter the camp when there are: fear, doubts, confusion, disharmony, quarrels, fights, and turbulence. Did you get that now? The Amalekites entered to fight the people of God because they were not united in spirit, same thing happens in Christian homes when brothers, sisters, dad and mom fight over petty issues.
The devil attacked the people when they were emotionally, physically and psychologically weak; however, there was one man in the camp who was ready for the battle, his name was Joshua. Wow, God reserves the best for the right day!
Joshua had to be in the prayer closet and hidden until God’s call in his life. As I read, Exodus 33:11” So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle”, the words, “Joshua did not depart from the tabernacle” enthralled me and ignited a fire in my heart. I kept reading those words over and over again! Each time I read I could feel the anointing of God fill me. I felt a fresh love to be in His Presence and cling on to Him surge inside me. Everybody left but Joshua clung to God! Everybody returned to their tents but Joshua cleaved to God! Powerful! Are you ready to explode for God? Mathew Henry says, “Those that cleave to the Lord fix, but those that leave Him ever wander.”
