Youth Sermon: The Sights and Sounds of Heaven

The Sights of God’s Throne Room Call Us to Worship Our God—4:2-8a

Imagine you're playing a video game, and you've just unlocked a secret level. That's what it's like for John in Revelation. He's invited to step through an open door into Heaven itself. It's like he's got the ultimate backstage pass!

John sees some crazy stuff in Heaven. There's a throne with someone sitting on it, shining like a diamond and a ruby. There's a rainbow that looks like an emerald. It's like the best special effects you've ever seen, but it's real! These sights show us God's glory, purity, and faithfulness.

It's like when you see a beautiful sunset or a starry night sky, and you just have to say, 'Wow, God is amazing!' That's what worship is all about - recognizing how awesome God is and telling Him so.

The Sounds of God’s Throne Room Call Us to Worship Our God—4:8b-11

In Heaven, there's this constant soundtrack of worship. The four living creatures never stop saying, 'Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.' It's like the best worship song ever, on repeat, reminding us of God's holiness and eternal nature.

It's like when your favorite song comes on, and you can't help but sing along. That's what we're invited to do - join in the heavenly chorus and sing God's praises.

So, what does this mean for us? It means that worship isn't just something we do on Sundays. It's a lifestyle. It's recognizing God's awesomeness in everything we see and hear, and responding with praise. It's like having your own personal soundtrack of worship, playing all the time.
