INTRODUCTION:
There are times in life when we face walls—obstacles that seem immovable, hindrances that stand between us and God’s promises. These walls could be limitations, generational strongholds, spiritual barriers, or life’s challenges. In the story of Jericho, the wall stood between Israel and the land of promise. But through divine strategy, their shout of faith brought it down.
The shout that breaks walls is not a carnal reaction but a spiritual action, birthed in obedience, expectation, and divine alignment. God doesn’t need physical weapons to bring down walls; He uses faith, praise, and prophetic obedience to accomplish His will.
As we explore this sermon, we’ll uncover how a Spirit-led shout can unlock divine power, scatter demonic opposition, and usher us into the victory God has ordained.
1. UNDERSTANDING THE NATURE OF YOUR WALLS
Before the walls fall, they must be rightly identified and spiritually discerned.
a) Some Walls Are Physical or Situational (Joshua 6:1)
Jericho’s wall was a literal, impenetrable structure. Some of your walls are visible challenges.
b) Some Walls Are Spiritual Strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4)
Many obstacles are rooted in spiritual opposition and must be addressed spiritually.
c) Some Walls Are Internal (Fear, Doubt, Sin) (Proverbs 28:1)
Inward barriers can hinder outward breakthroughs.
d) Some Walls Represent Delayed Promises (Daniel 10:13)
Delays caused by spiritual resistance can look like walls.
Biblical Example: The Red Sea was a wall-like obstacle, but God parted it for Israel’s deliverance (Exodus 14:21–22).
2. THE POWER OF DIVINE STRATEGY AND OBEDIENCE
God gives instructions that lead to supernatural manifestations.
a) God’s Strategy May Seem Foolish but It’s Powerful (1 Corinthians 1:27)
Walking around Jericho seemed ridiculous, but it was divinely commanded.
b) Obedience Precedes Divine Intervention (Deuteronomy 28:1)
The Israelites followed God's exact instructions without deviation.
c) Silence Can Be a Weapon of Obedience (Joshua 6:10)
God told them to keep silent until the appointed time to shout.
d) Complete Obedience Unlocks Total Victory (Isaiah 1:19)
Partial obedience delays full manifestation.
Biblical Example: Naaman’s healing came when he obeyed God’s specific command through Elisha (2 Kings 5:10–14).
3. THE SHOUT AS A PROPHETIC ACT OF FAITH
The shout was not just noise—it was a prophetic declaration of victory.
a) A Shout of Faith Releases Divine Power (Joshua 6:16,20)
They shouted before the wall fell, not after.
b) The Shout Is a Sound of Victory in Advance (Psalm 47:1)
Clapping and shouting by faith confuses the enemy.
c) The Shout Can Be a Weapon of Warfare (Psalm 149:6)
Let the high praises of God be in your mouth like a double-edged sword.
d) A Shout Declares Your Expectation of God’s Power (Isaiah 42:13)
God goes forth like a warrior when His people shout in alignment with His will.
Biblical Example: Paul and Silas prayed and sang hymns in prison, and God responded with an earthquake (Acts 16:25–26).
4. THE SHOUT THAT USHERS IN DIVINE POSSESSION
After the wall fell, the people of Israel stepped into their possession.
a) The Wall Falling Was Not the End, But the Beginning (Joshua 6:20–21)
The shout prepared the way for conquest and dominion.
b) Possession Follows Prophetic Action (Deuteronomy 1:8)
God gives, but we must take.
c) The Shout Transitions You from Promise to Manifestation (Hebrews 10:23)
Hold on and act on the promise—your Jericho will fall.
d) God’s Glory Is Revealed Through the Unusual (2 Chronicles 20:22)
When Judah praised, God ambushed their enemies.
Biblical Example: The shout of King Jehoshaphat’s choir confused the enemy and brought total victory (2 Chronicles 20:21–24).
CONCLUSION:
Walls may be high and thick, but they are no match for the power of God. The shout that breaks the walls is not just noise—it is an act of faith, obedience, and spiritual warfare. When you follow divine instructions and lift up your voice in praise and expectation, God responds with power.
You don’t need to fight the wall in your own strength. Just obey, believe, and shout in faith. As God honoured the obedience of Israel, He will honour yours. Every barrier to your blessing shall crumble as you lift a shout of faith.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, give me grace to discern the true nature of every wall in my life.
2. Father, help me to follow divine instructions fully and faithfully.
3. I receive boldness to shout in faith even before I see the result.
4. Let every Jericho wall in my life collapse by the power of God.
5. I receive every promise that has been delayed by spiritual resistance.
