The Shepherds' Response To The Message Of Christmas Series
Contributed by Doug Warren on Dec 19, 2001 (message contributor)
Summary: #3 in Series: Responses to the Message of Christmas. Focuses on Shepherds’ response (which should also be our response)
Intro:
The shepherds, considered the lowest of the low in
the societal structure of that day, were blessed
one dark night to receive the message of Christmas:
"unto YOU is born this day in the city of David
a SAVIOR who is Christ the Lord."
How they responded to this message of good news
should also be how WE RESPOND to the Good News
of Jesus Christ today.
Let us consider 4 responses:
I. They ACCEPTED the message (v. 15)
II. They ACTED ON the message (v. 16)
III.They ANNOUNCED the message to others (v. 17-18)
IV. They showed APPRECIATION to God for the
message. (praised Him) (v. 20)
Our responses should be the same...we are
to ACCEPT, ACT ON, ANNOUNCE AND SHOW APPRECIATION
for God’s message of Salvation through Jesus Christ
our Savior.
