The Seven Scriptural Witness Of Jesus Christ
Contributed by Monte Brown on Jan 22, 2007 (message contributor)
Summary: What assurance do we have that Jesus Christ is the Lord of our Salvation? What about those religions that only address God and leave out Jesus Christ? Does it really matter weather we believe in Jesus Christ, as long as we believe in God?
What assurance do we have that Jesus Christ is the Lord of our Salvation?
What about those religions that only address God and leave out Jesus Christ?
Does it really matter weather we believe in Jesus Christ, as long as we believe in God?
As long as man has lived he has question anything that he does not understand.
The very existence of Jesus Christ cannot be deigned if it was, then all the history books, encyclopedias, and great writings would have to be destroyed.
In the 1980 edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica over 20,000 words were used to describe this person Jesus Christ. His description, took more space than was given to Aristotle, Cicero, Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Buddha, Confucius, Mohammed or Napoleon Bonaparte.
The Bible itself has been put on the battlefield and no one has ever found one word that can be disputed. There are those that have tried; however Archeology keeps proving its accuracy.
The sayings of Plato were not recorded until 1,200 years after his death, and only 49 copies existed.
The sayings of Jesus Christ where recorded 25 years after his death and over 24,000 copies existed!
The trustworthiness of the scriptures is confirmed by every archeological discovery. Skeptics have had their attitudes toward the Bible radically changed as a result of archaeological investigations.
Matthew 5:17-18
"Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
So what better place to go but the greatest book ever written. The Bible!
1. THE OLD TESTAMENT
Isaiah 34:16 "Search from the book of the LORD, and read: Not one of these shall fail; Not one shall lack her mate. For My mouth has commanded it, and His Spirit has gathered them.
The Old Testament challenges us to search and read the Word of God, the truth about the Lord Jesus Christ shall not be denied. God will not fail he has provided a way that all may receive eternal life.
Starting in Genesis God gives a promise that he will send a redeemer.
2. JOHN THE BAPTIST
John 1:34 And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God."
John was a forerunner for Jesus Christ. He prepared the way for Christ, telling others and getting them ready for his coming.
3. THE FATHER
John 5:37 And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.
God the Father created the world. He created us. He created everything.
Where did he come from? Nowhere because, he has always been!
It doesn’t matter where he came from. It only matters where you’re going.
4. THE WORKS OF CHRIST
John 5:36 But I have a greater witness than John’s; for the works which the Father has given Me to finish--the very works that I do--bear witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me.
Jesus Christ performed great and mighty works his short time with us on the earth.
After his departure from this earth, Jesus Christ still does mighty works.
• Preparing our Manson
• High Priestly Intercession
• Sending the Holy Spirit
• Accompanying his Messengers
• Crowning the Victors
• Conquering all Evil Powers
5. JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF
John 8:14
Jesus answered and said to them, "Even if I bear witness of Myself, My witness is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going; but you do not know where I come from and where I am going.
6. THE HOLY SPIRIT
John 15:26
"But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.
7. BELIEVERS
John 15:27
And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.
Believers today have a great task to perform in the fact that they may be the only Bible that some people may ever see.
As a believer are you a witness?
