Summary: How you ever thought of how many movies have sequels? Many times the sequels are as popular as the original movies. But what about a sequel to life? Is this life all there is, or is there a sequel to it?
THE SEQUEL TO LIFE
INTRODUCTION
Have you ever thought about how popular sequels are? If a movie has produced millions
of dollars at the box office, we can be sure a sequel will be following. Movies like Star
Wars, Rocky and many others have produced sequels. Often the sequels are just as
popular as the original movies. Even books which reach the best-seller list can often
produce sequels.
However, the question before us is what about a sequel to life.What lies ahead after this
life? What if anything follows our lives on this earth? Life may be good, but is there a
sequel to this life? Life may have been difficult and hard, but what happens after this
life? Is there a sequel or is this all there is?
I. THE CONTROVERSY OVER A SEQUEL
a. The ancient Greeks solved the problem by saying that the soul is immortal. The
soul of an individual lives on forever.
b. .The Hebrews never subscribed to a view of the immortality of the soul, but
believed that the dead go to a place called Sheol, a shadowy
existence which neither discriminated between the good or bad. Later on there came
some concept of a resurrection from the dead.
c. Much confusion and dispute exist over a sequel to this life.
II THE CLARIFICATION OF THE SEQUEL
a. In Luke 20:27 -38,, Jesus clarified the controversy when he confronted the
Sadducees who did not believe in the resurrection of the dead.
b. He proclaimed a resurrection for the dead who cannot die anymore since they are like
angels who never die.
c. He called the dead children of the resurrection.
d. Recalling the incident at the burning bush, he proclaimed God to be the God of the
living and not the God of the dead.
e. In John 11:25, after raising Lazurus. Jesus called himself the "resurrection and the
life".
f.. In 1 John 2: 25, John says that Jesus has promised us eternal life.
III THE CONTEMPLATION OF THE SEQUEL
a. Many theories concerning a sequel to this life are common today.
b, Do we believe Jesus still has the power to resurrect the dead?
c.How do we live our lives in anticipation of a sequel to life?
1 Be sure we have accepted Christ as Saviour.
2.Resolve to dedicate the time we have to His service.
3 Witness to others how they can be ready for the sequel.
4. Pray to remain steadfast despite obstacles in life.
5. Trust that nothing can separate us from the love of God.
IV THE CELEBRATION OF THE SEQUEL
When we all get to heaven what a wonderful time that will be, When we all see Jesus
we will sing and shout the victory!

Jesus said," I am going to prepare a place for.you that where I am you may be also."

How do you tell others about the need to prepare for the sequel to life?
