The Secret Place

Psalm 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I. TRUST is Developed 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Trust is Personalised I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress

Trust is Prioritised my God,

Trust is Personified - my God, in him will I trust.

II. TRUTH is Revealed 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

The Person of Truth - Jesus is the truth (John 14:6).

The Power of Truth - John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

The Provision of Truth - like O.T. manna, it must be gathered on a daily basis. Matt 4:4 “…It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

III. TERROR is Taken 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

Thou shalt not be afraid of : - 1. Molestation - :5 for the terror by night

2. Nor Missiles - :5 nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

3. Nor Malady - :6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness

4. Nor Murder - :6 nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

IV. TEMPTATION is Overcome 13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

Temptation is overcome only if we dwell in him. John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

V. TRIUMPH will Come 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

1. The Requirement - :15 "he shall call upon Me"

2. The Results -

a. God's Promise Will Help Us :15 "and I will answer him"

b. God's Presence Will Hold Us :15 "I will be with him in trouble"

c. God's Power Will Heal Us :15 "I will deliver him and honour him"

3. The Reward 16 - With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
