INTRODUCTION:
Fasting is not a one-time emergency button; it is a spiritual discipline that opens the doors to divine rewards when done consistently and with the right motives. While many only fast during crises or special church programmes, those who make fasting a regular part of their walk with God experience deeper levels of spiritual power, clarity, and breakthrough.
Jesus taught in Matthew 6 that fasting should be a normal part of a believer’s life. Just as we pray regularly and read the Word, fasting must become a consistent discipline. God sees the sacrifice done in secret and rewards it openly. Every consistent act of spiritual devotion never goes unnoticed in heaven.
This sermon highlights the blessings and rewards God releases to those who consistently fast with the right heart. If you commit to this lifestyle, you will not only grow spiritually, but also experience consistent victory in life’s battles.
1. SPIRITUAL POWER AND AUTHORITY INCREASE
Consistent fasting deepens our spiritual authority and sensitivity.
a) Empowerment from the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:14)
After fasting, Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit. Fasting amplifies divine power in our lives.
b) Boldness in Spiritual Warfare (Mark 9:29)
Some battles can only be won through regular fasting and prayer. It sharpens your spiritual weapons.
c) Greater Command Over Darkness (Acts 19:15)
A consistent fasting life gives you recognition in the spirit realm and dominion over demons.
d) Supernatural Endurance (Isaiah 40:31)
Fasting renews your strength and gives you divine stamina to face life’s challenges.
Biblical Example: Jesus fasted for 40 days before launching into ministry and operated with unmatched power.
2. DIVINE DIRECTION AND CLARITY
Fasting helps you hear God more clearly and make wise decisions.
a) Hearing God’s Voice Clearly (Acts 13:2–3)
The early church fasted to receive instruction for ministry assignments. God speaks in seasons of fasting.

Fasting exposes and destroys strongholds in the mind and spirit.
Biblical Example: Queen Esther called for a fast, and the Jews were delivered from annihilation (Esther 4:16, 7:3–10).
4. OPEN REWARD AND DIVINE FAVOUR
God does not forget consistent seekers; He rewards them openly.
a) God’s Reward is Guaranteed (Matthew 6:18)

CONCLUSION:
Fasting is not just a spiritual exercise for emergencies—it is a divine tool that unlocks the supernatural when practised consistently. Those who commit to it are not only transformed within but are also rewarded openly by God. They walk in favour, clarity, power, and divine help.
