INTRODUCTION:
Faith is the key that unlocks the treasures of heaven and positions believers to experience the power and promises of God. Without faith, it is impossible to please God, and with faith, nothing is impossible. Throughout the Bible, those who believed God against all odds received tremendous rewards—some saw miraculous deliverance, others inherited promises, and some were transformed into heroes of their generation.
Faith is not just a feeling; it is an action, a lifestyle, and a deep trust in God’s character, promises, and timing. Faith says "yes" to God even when the circumstances say "no." It moves mountains, calms storms, and pulls down miracles.
In this message, we shall explore how faith pleases God, positions us for divine rewards, and transforms our lives when it is actively expressed and rooted in the Word of God.
1. FAITH PLEASES GOD
When we choose to trust God, even in uncertainty, we honour Him and invite His presence and power into our lives.
a) Faith is essential to approach God (Hebrews 11:6): God expects us to believe that He exists and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him.
b) Faith honours God’s character (Romans 4:20): Abraham did not stagger in unbelief but gave glory to God.
c) Faith reflects trust, not sight (2 Corinthians 5:7): True faith walks confidently even when evidence is not yet seen.
d) Faith releases divine attention (Mark 2:5): Jesus responded to the visible faith of the men who brought the paralytic.
Biblical Example: Enoch walked with God by faith and was taken without seeing death (Hebrews 11:5).
2. FAITH ATTRACTS GOD’S PROMISES
Faith is the vehicle through which we receive the promises of God in our lives.
a) Promises are activated through belief (Galatians 3:14): We receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
b) Faith accesses grace (Romans 5:2): Through faith, we stand in the grace where God’s blessings flow.
c) Faith resists discouragement (Hebrews 10:35-36): Confidence in God’s promise has a great reward.
d) Faith works with patience (Hebrews 6:12): We inherit promises through faith and patience.
Biblical Example: Abraham believed God’s promise of a son despite his old age, and it was counted to him as righteousness (Genesis 15:6).
3. FAITH PROVOKES SUPERNATURAL INTERVENTION
God moves in extraordinary ways when people act in faith.
a) Faith moves mountains (Mark 11:23): Nothing is impossible when we speak in faith.
b) Faith invites divine healing (Matthew 9:29): According to your faith, it shall be done unto you.
c) Faith breaks limitations (Luke 1:37): With God, nothing shall be impossible.
d) Faith unlocks closed doors (Acts 16:25-26): Paul and Silas praised in faith, and the prison doors opened.
Biblical Example: The woman with the issue of blood was healed because of her active faith (Mark 5:25-34).
4. FAITH PRODUCES LASTING TESTIMONIES
The fruit of faith is not only immediate but often leaves a legacy of God’s power in generations.
a) Faith leads to answered prayers (Mark 11:24): What you ask, believing, you will receive.
b) Faith builds generational impact (2 Timothy 1:5): Timothy’s sincere faith was passed down from his grandmother and mother.
c) Faith leaves a testimony (Hebrews 11:2): The elders obtained a good report through faith.
d) Faith overcomes the world (1 John 5:4): Our faith is the victory that overcomes the world.
Biblical Example: The centurion’s faith in Jesus resulted in his servant’s healing and became a lasting testimony (Matthew 8:5-13).
CONCLUSION:
Faith is a divine currency in the kingdom of God. It pleases God, draws His promises into our lives, and produces tangible results that glorify His name. Without faith, we remain stagnant, but with faith, we enter into divine breakthroughs and supernatural encounters. Every believer must grow in faith, speak faith, act in faith, and remain steadfast in faith. Faith is not optional—it is essential.
Let us stir up our hearts and rise in faith today. As you believe, you will receive. As you trust, you will see. As you stand, you will prevail. God is a rewarder, and your faith will not go unrewarded.
