Encourage Christians to run the race of life with perseverance, focusing on Jesus, setting the right priorities, and constantly evaluating their progress towards God.
Good morning, family. Today, we gather to reflect on a topic that affects us all, the race of life. We all know life isn't easy, it's full of twists and turns and sometimes we lose our way. But, as Christians, we're not running this race alone. We have a guide, a coach, a loving Father who not only watches our race but runs with us.
We'll be diving into Hebrews 12:1-3, a passage that speaks of this race. It reads,
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. The Bible is filled with verses that highlight this: James 4:14 says, "Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes." This verse is a stark reminder of our mortality and the fleeting nature of our existence. It underscores the urgency of the race we are running, urging us to seize the day and live our lives in a way that is pleasing to God.
The priorities we set in our lives are crucial in determining the direction of our race ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
