The “C’s” That Make A Christian

Robert A, Glass

In school, a C is not the best of grades. But as a Christian, some C’s are very important. These “C’s” make us a BETTER Christian.

1. Conversion:

Are we truly converted to Christ or are we “Sitting on the fence?” Conversion is a CHANGE! AC becomes DC. We gain a Change of heart, life & relationship with God. (Our sins are Purified!)

(Acts 3:19) “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out”

(Matthew 18:3) “And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.”

(1 Peter 1:16) “Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”

2. Conviction:

Are we convicted of the value of our soul and the souls of the lost? Are we concerned about the souls of others? Remember The blood of Christ was for 1 as well as ALL.

(1 Timothy 6:12) Says we are to “fight the good fight, lay hold on eternal life, and teach many witnesses.

(Matthew 5:16) “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (How brightly does your light show?)

Question: If you were arrested for being a Christian? Would there be enough evidence to convict you? (Paul was beheaded because of that evidence.)

3. Courage

When we face Satan are we courageous or cowardly lions?

(Luke 21:36) “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to stand before the Son of man.”

(Ephesians 6:11) “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

(Ephesians 6:13) “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

(Revelations 6:17) “For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”

(Galatians 6:9) “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” We will reap a home in HEAVEN!

4. Compassion:

As we teach others about Christ and being a Christian. Our compassion toward lost souls should be the compassion of Christ.

(2 Timothy 2: 24 – 26) “And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness INSTRUCTING those that oppose themselves; And that they may save themselves out of the snare of the devil,

(Acts 2:40) “And with many other words did He testify and exhort, saying, SAVE yourselves from this untoward generation.

5. Competence:

How competent are we in the Bible? I challenge us in this New Year to be Daily Bible Readers! HOW can we teach others a Gospel we don’t know?

(2 Timothy 2:15) “Study to shew thyself (BE) approved unto God, a workman (Christian) that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

6. Consecration:

Are we consecrated to Christ? Are we dedicated to living a Christian Life and saving souls? Consecrated means SET APART or Dedicated.

In Conclusion:

We are dedicated to Christ or Satan. Jesus said in...

(Matthew 12:30) “He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

(Luke 9:62) “And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Do we have the Conversion, Conviction, Courage, Compassion, Competence and Consecration to be a Christian? Is my life right with God?

Now is the day of Salvation. (2 Corinthians 6:2) (For he saith, behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

The Plan of salvation is simple and uncomplicated. Christ made it simple. MAN MADE IT COMPLICATED!

(Rom 10:17) “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” So it’s not just hearing, but it’s hearing the word of God.

(John 8:24) “For if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.” Belief in Christ is essential. There is NO other way.

(Luke 13:3) “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” Unless we repent, we perish. That is the consequence of SIN.

(Matt 10:32-33) “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

(Mark 16:16) He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

(Galatians 3:27) “For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.”
