The Question No One Wants To Answer

THE QUESTION NO ONE WANTS TO ASK. WHY ARE WE HERE?

INTRODUCTION:

If you asked 100 people what their purpose in life is, that is, what is their “WHY” for living, what do you think the most common responses might be?

to work hard, save money, raise a family, then retire comfortably

That's exhausting!

I tried asking "Siri" the other day, "Hey Siri, what is the meaning of life?" She couldn't really give me a straight answer!

Why did you show up at Church today? Why are YOU here? Did someone "drugged" you to church? "I was drugged all my life every time the doors were open." Maybe you felt it was an expectation in order to make someone happy.

Were you just curious about who we are and what we teach?

Some of us just came for the coffee and donuts. And that's okay. We're happy to feed people!

Here’s what we hear a lot at our Church.

"I LOVE MY CHURCH"

"I 'GET' TO COME TO CHURCH"

"THIS AINT YOUR GRANDMA’S CHURCH"

"OLD SCHOOL TEACHING WITH NEW SCHOOL ATTITUDE"

So, let's find out why we're really here! Let's dive into a scripture that is just so filled with meaning!

INFORMATION:

Ephesians 3:20-21 (NIV) Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

A New Priority: "Now to Him" When we make Jesus our priority, our lives become changed and focused. It is unto Him, centering on Him that that tells us WHY we are here. The person who lives "to Him"

A New Possibility: "who is able" Because He is able to do whatever He wills, a new world of possibilities opens up to us.

A New Potential: "to do immeasurably more" There are no limits to what He can do, immeasurably and then some more. His potential is beyond comprehension.

A New Prayer: "than all we can ask or imagine" Our heart's desire brings us to a new prayer that goes beyond imagination. We cannot ask enough to keep up with His capacity.

A New Power: "His power is at work within us" Just imagine that Almighty God wants to work in and through you. His "dynamic" power operates in us.

A New Praise: "glory in the Church" Why are we here? we exist to bring praise and glory to God. In His community, the Church, we have great meaning and purpose as we lose ourselves to find true meaning in Him!

SO, ULTIMATELY, HERE’S WHY YOU ARE HERE!

YOU NEED TO SENSE GOD’S PRESENCE, we all need a touch from God. We ALL need the presence of God, a sense that He is here, that something is different in our lives. He is here and you can sense Him here.

YOU NEED TO SEE WHAT GOD CAN DO, you need His purpose for your life TO SEE WHAT GOD CAN DO IN YOUR LIFE! God can do so much more than we even imagine! What does HE want to do in your life. If you will just give Him control and let Him unleash that power in you!

YOU NEED TO SERVE GOD IN WORSHIP, you need to focus. Not on a lightbulb or doorknob. The only thing living on a doorknob is the bacteria left from the last person.

INVITATION: Will you surrender yourself to Him today so He can fill you with meaning and purpose? He is able to change you from the inside out!
