I have redeemed thee Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 1 Peter 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: A Powerful Redemption. "I have redeemed thee!" By the Price of my Blood! By the Power of my Grace! For the Purpose of my Glory! II. RECOGNITION "I have called thee by thy name! 1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. (a) God Called Us 1 Cor 1:26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence. (b) God Cleanses Us 1 Cor 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. (c) God Claims Us - thou art mine 1 Cor 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
1. We are His Property! 2. We are under His Protection! 3. We live by His Provision! John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: III. REPRESENTATION "I will be with thee!" (v. 2). "I am with thee!" (v. 5). (a) With you in Problems to Pilot You. (b) With you in Power to Protect You- 2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; (c) With you in Person.to Profit You. - Paul (II Tim. 4:17). Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. IV. REVELATION "I Am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel! thy Saviour:" • He is “I AM” • God is accountable to no one but Himself • He is responsible to no one but Himself • He is limited by no one but Himself • He is restrained by no one but Himself • He is answerable to no one but Himself A.W. Tozer I am Jehovah! I am Thy God! I am the Holy One of Israel!- Faithful- God of Covenant. I am Thy Saviour. (Isa 43:11) I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no Saviour. (Luke 1:47) And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. (John 4:42) And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world. (John 14:6) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. A. He is not a way, or a truth, or a life. He is the only one. B. He is THE SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD! C. There is none beside Him. V. RELATIONSHIP 4 Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: PRECIOUS - If we are precious in his sight, it is because of what he has done, not what we have done! We are precious in God's sight because he bought us at a very dear price (I Pet. 1:18), because we are his workmanship (Eph. 2:10), because we are being conformed to the image of his dear Son (Rom. 8:29), and because we are his own sons and daughters (II Cor. 6:17-18). HONOURABLE.- To be honorable in God's sight is to be honorable indeed! Those born of God are honourably born (James 1:18), They are given an honourable privilege (Heb. 4:16), They are called to an honourable service (Acts 1:8), and They are made heirs of an honourable inheritance (Rom. 8:17). BELOVED - "I have loved thee!" - He loves you freely and unconditionally! He loves you eternally and unchangeably! He loves you particularly and personally! He loves you immeasurably and savingly! God your Father loves you pre-eminently! Therefore he will "give men for thee and people for thy life!" VI. REWARD "I have created him for my glory!" (vv. 5-7). He chose us for his own glory (Eph. 1:3-6). He redeemed us for his own glory (Eph 1:7-12). He called us for his own glory (Eph. 1:13-14).
